What about Marquis Flowers?

He had nice game no doubt.

Very limited so I wouldn’t get super high hopes for him, though.

I’ve seen a lot of no names make some sudden rushing contributions then vanish, so I’m not gonna get my hopes up.

What’s Michael Buchanan doing these days? Anyone remember Eric Moore?

Eric Moore and Marques Murrell were going to solve all our pass rush issues. I was so sure.

Murrell looked like Lawrence Taylor back in a preseason game in 2010 vs. the Saints.

Oh, believe me, I'll never forget.

I think that was the first preseason game I ever watched after making the dive from casual to hardcore fan.

I just remember being psyched about the defense going into 2010, and going into 2011 as well.

Oh, what a letdown.

Another solid game yesterday.

Cincinnati is clueless.

I love his sideline to sideline speed.

With KVN and Harrison setting the edge it'll allow MF to fly around and make plays in space.

Another example of BB understanding a player's strengths and putting him in a position to succeed

He reminds me of Jamie Collin's in his rookie year. Transitioning from special team to being a contributor on defense.

Yeah. I'd agree that LB - mainly ILB - might be a top priority in the draft, and possibly in FA. Seems like the thinnest position on the defense (and, then, the HT health issue).

However, with both Chung and McCourty turning 31 next Camp, and Richards seeming unlikely to progress beyond the special-teamer stage of development, SS might be a priority, too. Both LB and SS roles are critical to run-D and coverage at the second level, which seems to me to be the most significant issue, personnel-wise.

Whether LB or SS gets selected first depends on which specific prospects are available.

However, with both Edelman and Amendola aging, and with JG gone, WR and QB could be priorities, too -possibly also LT. Again, though, it depends on which specific prospects fall to within the Pats' reach.
We have schemed enough and been good enough in other areas but the biggest weakness on this team BY FAR has been run D. I expect to see some changes up front including those that will just be a matter of getting back injured players.
