It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I bet he's been instructed (or put the limitation on himself even) that if you have the first down and you don't have an open field in front of you, go down rather than try to be a hero or risk another hit on the head. It was sad to see it end that way for him, if that's what's going to be. I still love Wes and will welcome him back to the Pats (as a Pats HOF candidate) if he chooses to come. I thought it was a mistake to let him go and rely on Edelman. After one year, it looked like maybe I was right, but thereafter, BB proved me wrong again. I guess that is why he's the coach and I am not. I wonder how much (if at all) Wes regrets going to Denver...I think on his best catch yesterday he went down on purpose before the Colts defenders could hit him.
The announcers said nothing about it.
hope he retires.
Great servant to the team but his actions since have done little to endear him imo.
He's made for life. time to hang up the cleats and go enjoy it.
so close to that ring in Indy. such a shame.
If he just caught that ball...I was getting depressed watching WWW last night. I hope he retires for the sake of his health. Sucks that he never got a ring.
interesting comment someone made earlier.
I don't think Welker is within an asses roar of making the HOF. thats probably down to his low TD count.
890 receptions, just under 10,000 yards and 50 td's. Not sure that gets it done. I think he's a cert for Pats HOF though. and justifiably so. But then that also raises the question. Does Randy get to join too. over 50 td's in a little under 4 years.
you would think so.
I think that's more so because of his gigantic helmet.Welker really does need to retie..once he went to denver after that concussion..was never the same and just looks awkward out there

He went down to preserve time on the clock. I think there was less than 1 minute left in the game and there were 3 guys waiting for him. In my OP, he did the right thing for his team.
