What they did was dribble it up the middle. That's a completely different thing.

Yes ,I meant , it went straight into the hands of the broncos, hardly any challenge or anything.

Yep..... If you're going to come up with that lame an onsides kick, you might as well just pick a player on the other team and try to drill the ball off of him.

I feel like there has to be some sort of outside-the-box strategy for an expected on-sides kick that would work better than anything that teams do now.

Somebody needs to start a football think-tank-cum-test-kitchen.

Carolina wins

Got it. I thought you were saying that they did drill it at someone.

best one i ever saw was carney kick a jump ball and rodney harrison run under it and run it in for a td.....pretty awesome

Dude, after you pick up the 1st, GO DOWN.

big miami fail on D

Huh? I'm pretty sure you can't advance a recovered onsides kick.

Positives so far: Miami losing, Peyton throwing 2 picks, Rodgers throwing a pick, the bills keeping the texans to just 21 points. Broncos, texans, packers, ravens struggled a bit against inferior competition.

Colts this year without Manning: 5-3
Broncos this year with Manning: 5-3
Broncos with Tebow last year: 7-4

Why? It's just a regular kickoff as far as the rules go. Just happens to be short.

haha @ raiders

turn on the game to hear "another flag...and it's a PF on oakland"

So, now that the Colts are 5-3 with a rookie QB, what's the revisionary story on Peyton's importance to Indy. So far, the fall off from Peyton to Luck is 1 game. But the falloff from both of them to Curtis Painter is many games.

Luck and Tannenhill are for real. Very impressed with Luck though throwing it 48 times without getting picked off. He came close a couple of times, but I guess that's why they call him Luck.

Time to lose that chip on your shoulder. Luck is actually more hyped than Manning, and looks to be at least as good.

Kind of unfair for the Colts fans to have just experienced a pretty outstanding decade, and have another 10-15 years of excellent football ahead. Luck will win some championships, to be sure.

Simms talking about how sports has a "unique ability to make people forget."

The funny part is he's talking about hurricane Sandy, and not dementia from repetitive brain trauma.

Nobody knows how good the Colts were last year.

They were obviously not trying to win.

SPORTS
Chargers 35, Colts 19
By From Tribune News Services | October 27, 1997
Gary Brown rushed 28 times for 169 yards and one touchdown as the Chargers (4-4) won after 10 days off. The Colts, who were in the playoffs the last two seasons, fell to 0-8. "It would be too devastating if we went 0-16," wide receiver Sean Dawkins said. Greg Davis kicked five field goals for the Chargers, but had a sixth attempt blocked by Ellis Johnson and returned for a touchdown by Ray McElroy to cut the lead to 29-19 with 2:17 to play. The Colts tried an onside kick, only to see the ball go straight to Rodney Harrison, who ran between two Colts for a 40-yard TD.

i was wrong, he recovered it and ran it in...i could have sworn sd recovered their own and ran it for a td one time.....guess not
