Don't know that's more on him or the Commanders OL.

Mac was again missing wide open slants across the middle on Sunday. Miami's secondary is average at best and Mac looked better against Buffalo's secondary. It is all about Mac's emotional state, I am not sure the opposing secondary has much to do with it.

It just feels like he either doesn’t understand the concept and goal of the play or just can’t process what he sees fast enough.
It’s got nothing to do with emotion, he needs to be coached up about making good decisions and making them on time.

Not sure what Bill or BOB did to get Mac to remember the middle of the field exists against Buffalo but they either forgot to do it again this past weekend or it just stopped working because he forgot it exists once more and regressed back more towards his usual 2023 self. Very strange. Something is just not right upstairs.

I agree with most of that. Emotional responses slow our minds. Like when Mac's eyes go down, that is due to an emotional response, like fear. Since Mac processed fine against Buffalo, we know that Mac can process what he sees fast enough if his mind is right.

Our emotions slow our brains processing speed. Ever thought of a great response to a criticism well after the criticism happened? Ever wonder why you didn't think of that rebuttal at the time of the criticism? Because at the time of the criticism you are reacting emotionally, whereas later when you have calmed down, your mind is free to think clearly so a rebuttal pops into your head. Mac is scared or something, and that clouds his ability to process quickly.

I disagree. Something that would occurs if you were emotionally overwhelmed does not only happen because of emotions.
For example looking down at the rush could be for any number of reasons including that he doesn’t have a good feel for and thinks he needs to check it to successfully execute the play. To assume fear with no evidence is silly. If he feared pass rushes it would galore every time. It doesn’t happen any where near every time.

Not being quick witted isn’t an emotion.

Some people process things faster than others, and people with training and confidence always process things faster. It’s not emotion it’s mental capacity, experience and confidence.

It’s funny how so many comments are like this, as if playing QB just consists of someone telling you what to do.
Making the right decisions as a qb is ridiculously difficult. Less than 40 men on earth in the nfl qb age range can do it well. There are so many variables that go into it. You can’t just flip a switch and be good at it.
Brady worked ridiculously hard to get good at it, and it also came easy to him because he could see the field and always knew what he was seeing. He only needed to learn to understand it.
I don’t know that Jones doesn’t see it, but he doesn’t see it on time. If you watch the tape there are plays he leaves on the field because he doesn’t see, understand and act fast enough.
I don’t know if it’s coachable with him or not. If it is he can be fine. If it’s not he never will be and it will show up, as it has been, more drastically in clutch situations, not because he chokes but because the defense turns it up a notch.

OK. I think it is a bit of both. I think the shuffling of his feet shows anxiety (nerves). He is not calm, looks nervous. I think his mental capacity is OK since it was fine against Buffalo, but maybe he lacks experience and confidence. It is Mac's third year so usually the experience for a QB is adequate by now, Geno Smith needed more experience, and confidence can take awhile longer. Not sure I am willing to be more patient past this year unless consistency happens towards the end of this season. I doubt the Pats pick up Mac's 5th year option (yes I know it is a bargain).

That's exactly what it was on that interception, probably spotted the right guy, but way too late and then threw it too softly. Probably one of the the easiest picks in Ramsey's career.

I think we should be able to move the ball on them. Commanders have one of the worst defenses in the NFL, unlike the Saints. Just don't know if we'll be able to stop them. Commanders have some pretty good weapons on offense.

Jones is prone to mistakes, playing Washington could lead to mistakes because their pass rush is pretty good.

And the weaker the arm the less time he has to get it to the right spot on time. Below average arm has to be above average seeing and reacting. Mac hasn’t demonstrated that ability that I see. His success comes when his first read is open short. Long passes have been a liability.

First off, I would like to be the first to commend you on making progress. You finally admit that you did make predictions after weeks of trying to weasel and backpeddle claiming that you weren't when your whole thread hit the iceberg and sunk after a few days.

Secondly, you're wrong. 1 - 3 is not 4 - 4. The Saints are 4 - 4 at 500. They were not a bad team when you created your thread of fail and they aren't a bad team today.

In closing, the Pat's are in last olace in the AFC and you sit next to them.
