Jets have more pressure on them to win than does NE imo.
I totally agree on the pressure piece. The Patriots losing this game is one step closer to the #1 draft pick and is expected. The Jets and Aaron Rodgers are in the spotlight with the chaos on the coaching staff and the roster. Does that pressure make a difference? Not if the Patriots can't stop the run and run the ball on offense.

If the Patriots can get 100+ yards out of their running game (not including Drake Maye scrambles), and hold the Jets to under 150 yards rushing, they can win this game.

Hopefully this is the last week of our substitute teacher oops I mean coaches reign.
It's not Mayo's fault that the offensive line can't run block nor is it his fault the defense can't stop the run. The interior guys on both sides of the line need to step up and do their jobs. The Patriots look like crap because they are not winning the line of scrimmage. Is it talent? somewhat, but these guys are professional football players who are not doing the basics of blocking and tackling.

Frankly, the offensive and defensive linemen know their jobs are on the line. They can read stats and see what's on film. Challenging these men is precisely what they need and what Mayo is doing. They need to respond.

Why is it not Mayo’s fault that professional football players are not doing their jobs?

This looks like pure, unadulterated ******** to me, and I resent it.
This looks exactly like the late Sullivan, then Orthwein & Kiam days frankly - I see little difference.

Those owners were either too involved or not involved at all, the staffs weren't hired for purpose but often $$$ savings or "good old boy network"-like candidates that had local cachet/name recognition and worst was the mirroring of the plot from the first Major league movie "suck so bad so we can move the team" years.

There's not a lot to like about this year's iteration so far, but they're not trying to abscond with the team yet (that was the worst to me - I didn't want to become like my grandfather - a NY Giants fan because there wasn't anything else close by).

I do agree that they need challenged, but I disagree about it being Mayo's fault. As someone that was Co DC last year, he sees the film and knows that players are out of position so he must get involved if he is not or assist Montgomery and Covington.

Early in his tenure he mentioned being a CEO and keeping the ship pointed in the right direction. He is not doing his job as far as keeping the ship righted and I am not saying he needs to win but he has to stop the repeat errors, which is another thing he said.

Wish there were an agree/laugh button, because I agree with you. I also uproariously laugh that this is the best the JETE can do with their window open. Poor f'n JETE
Just another team that only needed a QB to win. The summary of a recent discussion on the radio is that situations where a team brings in a high profile QB as the missing piece to a championship is that team first QB's Brady, Manning, Stafford can make it work. Me first QB's Aaron, Watson, Russel Wilson aren't successful. This fraud could not happen to a nicer team.

Think we can score a couple of TD's on the Jets but don't think our defense will hold up for a win. figure about a 26-17 loss or so.

Now I am wondering, will Rodgers have more picks on the field or on the bench?

They are't getting the first overall pick. Probably less than a zero percent chance. Carolina has that locked all the way up. Might be others too, I see the Pats picking no better than 5th.

I am pretty hopeful honestly, Drake made leaps from game 1 to game 2 in decision making and he made some great throws. AVP is slowly modernizing the offense by catering to Drakes strengths, we saw more Pistol which seems like a compromise between under center and shotgun and can still run PA from pistol.

Booty is seemingly fully recovered from his ankle surgeries and is showing his explosiveness along with good hands, in high school he ran the 60M in 6.9 and a reported 4.37 40 yard (don't know if rumor or true). The OL is still a significant problem but Maye has been able to make them look better because of his quick processing ability.

I am at a loss with the defense, I know injuries and blah blah, but they need to figure it out. The offense is close to the point that are a winning offense. We just need the Defense to show up, maybe being called out will improve their effort, but regardless Mayo needs to get involved. He was Co DC last year, so he knows enough that he should be able to drop the CEO title and get more involved in the gameplan.

Maybe he’ll find a lucky one…

Maye made an in game adjustment when he had that late throw to Polk that got broken up by the safety. He had the same concept on the opposite side and threw it with anticipation like he should have on the Polk one. He seems to make a mistake, figures out how to fix it and doesn't make it again. Carried on from the pre season.

PRESUMING THAT NO ONE IS BEING FIRED UNTIL AT LEAST THE BYE
1) AVP and McAdoo should have full control of the Offense. For the time being, we'll go with what we have.
2) Mayo should step in where he can help. He needs to be the co-DC again, this time with Covington. They need to work together on schemes and calls. They need to develop a plan, perhaps going back to a 5-6 DB base.
3) Someone needs to be in charge of discipline and approving all statements to the media and press. That should be Mayo but could end up being someone from Wolf's side of the house.
4) Wolf will continue his every day scouring of transactions, practice squads, and possible trades. Before you laugh too hard, consider how many reps were taken this week by players not on the original 53.

AS AN ASIDE
Perhaps, this means that McAdoo has more of a role in reporting to the Kraft's, in addition to Mayo and Wolf. I suspect that this is already happening.

I do like that Mayo said that the PS will be used to develop the bottom of the roster types. Wolfs dad was constantly tinkering with the bottom of the roster and practice squad. I really like that with Wolf and hope that in the offseason that real money is actually spent to start building around Maye.

I can kinda understand why a ton of money wasn't spent on external talent because you didn't know what you would have with Drake. I don't agree with that approach, but can somewhat understand. If a lot of money was spent on players that did not end up meshing with Maye or fill the role needed then we would be stuck with those players and need to correct after a few years. Now they go into 2025 knowing what they have and what they need to really improve. Just my speculation of what they were doing.

Patriots need to compete 8n tgus game, otherwise it will get real ugly

Tickets are not cratering, still 75% or so of face value, so I'm guessing there's going to be a ton of J E T S JETS JETS JETS fans, probably more than normal bc there's tons of tickets available. Could be close to a Jets home game.
