Seems Cannon has been ruled out. Will be a huge loss. will see Gronk/Devlin/allen chipping a lot i feel

But Gronk ISN’T injury prone, right?? RIIIIGHT...
@Wheelman

Not sure a chronic issue on a back that was operated on two times already counts as being injury prone. Thats like calling Shaquem Griffin injury prone because he is missing a hand. It is an existing condition.

Call him not reliably in terms of availability but nothing in his history suggests anything about being injury prone as most of his injuries were freak accidents that would have happened to anyone on the same play. Not every incompletion is a drop the same way that not everyone who has missed time due to injuries is necessarily injury prone.

This is no shot or knock on Gronk, but sadly he is injury prone. It is what it is. This goes back to at least Arizona.

Depends on your definition of injury prone. To me then phrase carries the implication that his body is not build to sustain an nfl season relative to the average NFL player.

Gronk has rarely routine injuries and basically each time he missed time it was for freak reasons that would have taken anyone out.

A few random novice thoughts.

1. Has any team ever intercepted a shovel pass? If not that'll be my bold prediction for this game. haha

2. After watching the last two Bear's games I think Trubisky will offer a few chances for an INT. Although he's a decent young QB he still makes some ill advised and/or poor throws. He does have a nice deep pass especially down the left sideline. But throw a couple of blitzes at him and he may start tap dancing in the pocket and rushing some throws. It'll be interesting to see how he performs in a tight game.

3. This offense looks very similar to KC's. Nagy was brought in by and coached under Andy Reid so the similarities make sense. Cohen and Gabriel are used similarly as Hill and Hunt. Both are dangerous in space. Got to get pressure on Trubisky.

4. Depending on Trubisky's growth the Bear's have a chance to be a very good team.

It may be a benefit that the Pats played KC last week because they're going to see pretty much the same thing from the Bear's offense this week as far as weapons and scheme goes. imo.

Should be another good game. Could be a close one depending on whether Trubisky can keep his mistakes to a minimum or not.

I don't see how this game will be close by the end of the third quarter. Unless we go like -2 in turnovers or ST ****s the bed considerably.

I find it hard to see how Chicago or Buffalo will be able to win against us. Yes, we can lose the game if we shot our own foot but if we play two average games we should come out 2-0.

Can you imagine what this offense would look like if both Gronk and Edelman weren’t playing?

I agree but I do see Chicago's potential. They have big play capability and we will probably see a few Sunday. They're not as explosive as KC but their defense is better up front. So in a complementary sense they could be almost as dangerous as KC if they can put it all together but that depends on Trubisky making smart reads and throws for the whole game which hasn't done yet.

But like you (I assume) I think Brady will get rid of the ball quickly to offset the pass rush, keep the chains moving and they'll be happy to trade TD's for FG's.

I think the Pats can run on them as well. Not straight up the middle rather sideline to sideline. Sweeps, zone blocking and some creative delay type runs. I expect to see a few Patterson (Mr. FD^2 (Fall down or First down)) or Dorsett have a few sweep type plays.

Side note: It is difficult for me to predict Chicago's performance based on their last two games because one was in the sweltering heat down in Miami and the other was a blowout by halftime. So I basically valued the first half performances more than the second halves in both games.

I do expect a win but think it could potentially be a close one.

I haven't really watched any Buffalo games so can't say either way.

I'm trying really, really hard not to imagine that. Because I'd like to get some sleep tonight that isn't drug-and-alcohol induced.

Oh they have potential, but Trubisky is not there yet. And while they have the same archetypical players in their offense as KC they are not even close on any level.

Gabriel is not Hill. Burton is not Kelce. Cohen is really good but not Hunt.

And while I agree that their defense is definitely better than what KC had I just don't see their offense hanging with us. Now I don't think it will be a blowout -- unless they **** the bed and turn it over -- but in the end it will be a nice 2 possession victory.

If Nagy starts to overcompensate with aggressiveness for how he didn't trust his QB last week in the OT in Miami then it might actually be over by halftime.
