This should be a win. Patriots are better at every position. Losing a game like this would be a major step back.
Things are kind of falling the Pats way. There are only four teams with a better record in the AFC and one of them, Pitt, looks like a favorite to win the AFCN due to all of the injuries and won't be in our potential tie-breaker.

And there are also only two other winning teams, LC and Den, and they're both in the same division.

The Pats are in a good position, one that I didn't think they'd be in even with a good schedule.

Only reason the Saints will make this a competitive game is if their QB plays well. Spencer Rattler could become one of the big storylines this season. I called it leading up to the 2024 draft where he was taken in the fifth round. Groupthink said he could only be AT BEST a backup.

I was actually thinking of your thread the other day:

So who is she pulling for Sunday?

Plus, Tolzien, Moore’s colleague in Dallas, is the QB coach. He’s done a great job with Rattlesnake.

I expect heavy pressure on rattler. We get good pressure rushing 4.. when we send blitz pressure we typically cause errant throws or TOs. With Gonzo back with and few games now to get his sea legs.. I expect man coverage.

It's all about the patriots from here on out.. when they don't beat t themselves they have shown they are a pretty solid team. Start fast against NO and dictate. No opening drive TDs allowed by the defense.

I've come around on hawkins.. I know he's not an all pro or maybe even pro bowl safety..but he's rounding into a solid player.. Zach kurh is using him where his defencienies aren't as much as a liability.

He's getting better...

New Orleans is a wasteland for players. I have no idea why Cameron Jordan has stayed for so many years. Ditto for Demario Davis.

I got beaucoup dislikes before the 2024 season suggesting Hawkins might play FS on occasion in 2024. He will make a very good play and then a very bad one. I don't know if he's going for the ball too much or loses concentration or what. He should try to be more consistent. I think he can play CB3 depending on the opponent.

Why do you think he is getting better? I missed that part.

He is giving up 40 yard TDs. He's tackling better and playing within the defense of what he's asked to do. He hasn't been bench so he assumingly is doing something they like. Please don't fall under the impression I am saying he's an all pro.

Yeah... I believe it's a consensus we all agree he's not this all-world player. But he's the last line of defense and he's not giving up bombs like earlier in the season. As long as he can be steady we have Woodson also back there.
