Andrew Luck had like half of his offseasons taken up by surgery and rehab.
Ho hum, another Gronk TD. Great job Bill, Mr. sub .500 himself.
Saying he didn't have the stones was stupid as hell, though. It wasn’t half, but he was also one of the most hit QB in the league during his tenure because he always played behind crappy lines and didn’t have great receiver and had horrible head coaches. Again, you are pointing to exceptions though.
Brees, Roethlisberger, Rodgers, Rivers, both Mannings, Fitzpatrick, Romo, and others all played until 37 or longer. Matt Ryan is 36 and barring a major injury will play at age 37 or later.
Jesus. You are talking about outliers. Andrew Luck could have continued to play if he wanted. He chose to retire because he didn’t have the stones to continue. And RGIII was never going to last to 37 because of the uniqueness of his play (and I said barring serious injuries which would apply for RGIII).
But plenty of QBs play until they are 37. It isn’t a rare occurrence anymore. A
