Just a thought but if they are destined for that bad a cap situation maybe they should start their fire sale now?

They have too many good players to just give up on the season. I'm really curious on the next steps, they can't just go Josh Dobbs route.

Man it didn't look that strong of a hit, I see players getting that every game , RBs more often.

Mac does not seem like a good match for Tyreek from a personality perspective. Couple that with some poor throws and things could sour quickly if Miami goes that route.
Can you imagine Mac trying to throw down field to Tyreek? Mac would throw a moon ball and Tyreek would be standing waiting for it to land. I don't think that would work.

Forget his career. How about his life?

Remember Mike Turner? The former Patriots fullback died at age 46 from ALS (although BU researchers said it was CTE that killed him). Steve McMichael wasn't even able to travel to attend his Hall of Fame induction last month because he is crippled by ALS and he is 66. A study showed that NFL players are four times more likely to die of ALS than other people.

Kevin Turner?

The good thing for Tua is he can stop playing now and the narrative around his career will be that it was promising and cut short by injuries. When really, he was always kinda bad

When you take a hit so bad it looks like you’re immediately throwing up gang signs on your back, it’s time to retire.

People were already calling for his retirement on the last concussion. It’s getting ridiculous at this point.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why he didn't slide. They must have been teaching him that.

Per Spotrac, the critical issue is whether he gets cleared by doctors. If they do not allow him to return, then he is entitled to collect that money.

If they clear him and he "chooses" to retire, Miami is not obliged to pay.

Both sides may negotiate a settlement in the "middle" somewhere (e.g., he gets all his 2025 money but gives up anything beyond that, or he gets 55% of the remaining money, etc.).
Yeah, if he was cleared as fully healthy and held himself out then that does complicate things. But I have a hard time predicting that situation. If over $100M is on the line, he's probably going to want to suit up, but the optics would be very bad for Miami/the NFL.

I think he knew it was 4th down, and probably lost track of the marker and didn't realize he already had the first down so he just dove for an extra yard or two

And had just thrown 3 picks. The desire to play hero ball and over compensate for his previous performance had to be strong.
So maybe they should get Mac to replace him.
