NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 14 Other games (Pats on a bye)

I may be wrong, but isn’t it uncommon for two teams coming off of a bye to play each other? It may be paranoia but seems a bit suspicious to me that the Patriots bye week benefit/advantage is blunted to some degree because the Colts will also be well rested. Of course, Colts fans could make the same argument.

I don’t agree with this. I’m going to go back to prior years and see if anything disputes this.
if you find it, lemme know... info like that is good to know

it is and you are not paranoid and of course they did that on purpose to blunt any advantage the Patriots might have.

I am sure if there’s a tie coming out of tiebreaker #1 then the next tiebreaker is assessed only involving the two teams that “won” the tiebreaker. I’ll have to look at it myself.

Either way “fair” or not, H2H/best win pct among the teams tied is always the first tiebreaker no matter what. It’s just a tiebreaker it doesn’t have to be rocket science for “fairness”.

Well, obviously ESPN playoff machine is not doing the H2H in the scenario I just mentioned. They are likely doing conference record, which makes most sense.

The entire offense is bad. Why they decided to go with Etienne at the bottom of the first round when they could have snagged Jenkins or Eichenberg while then grabbing either Elijah or Rondale Moore, is beyond me. Outside of Lawrence and possibly Campbell, it was an extremely suspect draft.
Campbell is looking bad rn, of they could redo it asante samuel jr would be a better option rn.

That is not the first tiebreaker so if that’s what they’re doing then it’s wrong.

Both of my local games are blowouts. Chiefs and Cowboys are dominating. I hope they change the games soon. I'm starting to pity the Raiders.

Poor McLaurin...

Here's the first example disputing this in my favor.

Jacksonville got the 3rd seed in 2017 over KC and KC had a better division record but a worse conference record. They never played each other.

Jaguars or Raiders ?

In his quick hits today, Mike Reiss stated that teams coming off byes this year are 12-11-1, which includes two games following a bye for both contestants… Minn/Dal and TB/Was.

Washington’s defensive line is allen and a bunch of jag’s.
