There was absolutely nothing to gain from throwing it short there. None. At least a bomb while dumb and ill advised can conceivably accomplish something.

Given the time on the clock and field position, that might be the worst play of the year across the league. Falcons didn’t take a timeout to try for another possession. 30 seconds left inside your own 10…game clock would run out ahead of the play clock.

Sort of like walking a chewing gum at the same time. Any real Patriots fan can be die hard Pats and still want Brady to do well. As an aluminum bleacher sitting fan, I'll put my fan card up against any pink hats who are jilted by Brady going elsewhere.
