That’s what happens when you have a good draft. The patriots haven’t had a good draft in years.
Thats 2 games the NFL tried to affect the outcomes at the very end. They got one. They didn’t get the other.

I think it is more complicated than that. The problem is finding receivers that can grasp the NE playbook. Plenty of very good receivers can thrive if they only have to run a single route on a play ( e.g. run a 9 (go) or a '7" or a "5" or a ten yard out route) but can't grasp what to do in a multi option play changing the play if it's man or zone ( e.g. Ocho cinco or Galloway). Guys (veterans) like Gordon and Amendola can pick it up quickly having been in a similar type offense but it is difficult to tell if a college player will grasp it...No I'm saying other teams can mine talented WRs why can't NE?
It's sad shopping at thrift store for WRs.
The only thing that’s stopping that team is injuries. Short of that, they’re tea bagging the Patriots. Payton should get on his knees and blow his scouting department over that 2017 draft.
We have the tiebreaker over KC and potentially not over the Chargers.

I think Brees is showing how great he is, BUT... stats are not necessarily a reflection of individual play. They are as team-related as wins. Plus, Brees has played most of the games of his career in domes. This is Brady in domes as of the end of the 2017 season:
- Brady in a dome: 67.4%, 8.64 YPA, 6.9 TD%, 2.62% INT, 106.42 rating
