That makes no sense. If they tried the FG the rest of the game would have unfolded differently. They might have or they might have lost, but it certainly wouldn't have come down to the same 35-yd kick.
or the kick might have been unsuccessful

Gesicki >> Jonnu Smith.

Agree, some hot, some cold. The problem is a pro level starting QB is expected to deliver lots of hot and very little cold. Mac's comments suggest he knows it. This is a huge year for him. The team needs to decide important things this off season like an extension or a fifth year option. He needs to show by the end of this season that he's a viable QB1, and he's not there yet.
IMO, Mac is still BAD with short throws and throws behind the line of scrimmage. Ball is high, behind and the poor throw causes a lost step.

I have no issues with BB letting Jones go on 4th down.

BB showed confidence in his QB to win the game. SF let Purdy go on 4th yesterday too.

The moral of this game. kick the field goal on 4th down Bill.
WTF would that have done? It doesn't win them the game. And there is no telling if they actually get back into FG range

Very much an example of "players win games, coaches lose them"

Why they went for it on 4th instead of taking the 3 is beyond me.
That didn't lose them the game.

Jobe pushing Boutte out so he couldn't get the second foot down.
The series where Fletcher Cox disrupted 2 straight plays.
The sacks on Jones

Inexcusable. Kick the FG with 6 minutes (roughly) left and then again on the 4th and 12 and they win this game.
Big assumption by you that they get that 4th and 12. It's amazing how people think that everything plays out the exact same when you change one thing. That's not how life works.

Once you change that one thing, everything after that changes.

I was fine with the decision to move on from Jakobi and sign Juju for his YAC ability.

Hopefully to justify that decision he starts to make more defenders miss tackles than he did yesterday...

BB does need to accept more responsibility for passing up on what would have allowed a game-winning FG.
Assuming Ryland made it, they would have been able to kick another 35yd-er for the win. Frustrating.
THE GOOD -
Great to see Bourne truly fly. Zeke will help a lot as we go. All the pass catchers got involved.
2 rookie Guards jumped in and went wire to wire.
Gonzo was safe all game long, but big plays at the end.
White is going to be a beast.

How do you know they'd have been able to kick a 35 yd for the win? You're ignoring the fact that if they kick the FG, they have to do a kick-off and that once they do that, how everything else plays out is completely different. For all you know, it leads to an Eagles TD and the Pats lose worse.

What's frustrating is how people ignore that the scientific process has proven the this time and again. Yet people like yourself keep acting pretending that what you say would be true. That changing just one thing and everything else would remain the same.

Poor guy had a tough 1st game.
But, on the other hand, he got open, caught balls... he seems like he was more involved than Pop.
This reaction sounds like he's going to be a guy that turns into a Brown/Edelman. I hope so!
He had zero catches. I did find it interesting that he was on the field at the end of the game and JuJu was sitting on the bench.

What's frustrating is that you think anybody thinks this lol

He should be. He ****ed the team twice. No excuses.

Try watching the game instead of being so emotional. The Defender, JOBE, PUSHED Boutte from behind to ensure that he didn't get the 2nd foot down. That's not Boutte's fault. That's a good, head's up play by JOBE.

Yeah, sure, but the defense is playing great. Kick the FG with 9:40 left and make it 22-17. He played it like he wasn't getting back there.

Just so we are clear, I suggested kicking on 4th and 12, not going for it, penalty, and then going for it 4th and 17. I just went back and looked at field position. After the sack on 2nd down, they were out to the 43. 3rd down was incomplete, setting up a 60 yard FG. That's not a kick I want to make the kid attempt there, so I think they probably should have punted, but they stopped the Eagles on the next drive, getting the ball back with good field position. I get that Bill didn't trust his punter to pin them, and the FG kicker to make a huge FG, but at some point they have to play all three phases football. I dunno, man. I know I am nitpicking.

If bill took the 3 we win...

How so? The next play after the FG would be a KICK-OFF. Tell us where the Eagles end up field position wise and how the next 8 plays go.

Do you realize How much time was left at that point? 9:39. What's to say that Philly doesn't march back down and score a TD?

We lost by 5. Two FGs = 6 points. The Eagles had 251 yards of total offense all day. What, exactly, do you think changes if they kick those FGs?

Yes, Jobe did push Boutte, but Boutte didn't even try to drag the foot. So it is on Boutte.

With 9:39 left, the Pats were 4th and 3 at the Philly 17. If they kick the FG, there is no telling what happens the rest of the game. There is no telling if Philly only takes a FG on the next series. There is no telling if Bourne get's his 2nd TD of the game.

The 4th and 12 on the Philly 43 with 2:24 remaining is a 59-60yr FG. The penalty pushing them back was just a back-breaker.

I don't think that it was a case of Bill not trusting Baringer. Philly's defenders neutralized Slater and Schooler all game. If you go back to the previous punt where they tried to pin Philly, Slater and Schooler weren't within 5 yards of the ball. It wasn't because Baringer didn't get the hang time. It was because the Eagle's players slowed them down that much.
