Yeah, I bet you were here last year to tell us the Pats were going to win the SB...oh wait....

Gisele’s words can’t be more true “my husband can’t catch and pass the ball at the same time.”

You just have to check out the first page and you will see how the sentiment has been the same. Of course now due to them winning the SB all of this has been retroactively adjusted into some rose tinted view of how last years team clearly looked better and this time it is different:

Post Game Thread - Pats @ Steelers

Hell I am sure we can go back another year to the December Dolphins MNF game that we lost in spectacular fashion and you will hear the very same sentiments again.

It really is always the same story.

Thanks for posting this! Absolutely phenomenal thread.

Some gems:

This is a bad football team that will lose on its home field in the wild card round. 2009 all over again

Said before this game that the Miami loss would either make or break this team. Looks it broke them.

They looked shaken from last week. This team has folded.

Offense **** the bed big time.

The deterioration of this offense is astonishing.

The D only gave up 17! They’re so good

Let’s ignore the missed FG, the INT right at Harmon, the crippling FG allowed at the end and keeping Brady off the field

Both sides of the ball sucked hard. The talent just isn’t where it has been recently.

Pats are going to get smoked by someone in early January.

Soft in the trenches on both offense and defense, WRs that can’t get open when Gronk is getting double and triple teamed, LBs that are more suited for 2001 than 2018. We have a lot of problems. This is just not a good football team. We’re not going anywhere this year and we BADLY need a draft like we had in 2010.

I knew Pittsburgh was going to be tough after they lost 3 straight and lost so many times to NE. They were desperate. The Steelers simply wanted it more.

This team is not sniffing anything close to the super bowl.

The bolded from @TommyBrady12, specifically, did not age well.

Not your version of English.
Ok English lesson.

Errr you said you aren’t like fans who think the patriots will win every year, you know better. Obviously you don’t.
Pretty clear. Quoted your comment which was wrong.

so you think that only people who post on this site are fans and no one was a fan before they started posting here?
You don’t really believe that do you?

Pretty clear. You implied the date you start posting here is the date you became a fan.
And no response to my comment that I’m sure you had them one snd don’t last year?

Pretty clear otter that the “and done” typo.

And you know it’s right, hence the bs reply.
see that proves you know nothing, unlike the fans who are confident the team that always wins will win.
Crystal clear.

You lose

As you can see, just about everyone was down on the team last year. And since you weren't on this forum to tell us at the time that the Pats WERE going to win the SB, you have no right to spike what we were saying last year into anyone's face.

I agree. This team is not sniffing anything close to a Super Bowl this year.

Am I right, Tommy?

You admit to a bunch of grammar mistakes and then tell me it's crystal clear...sure.

I honestly don't see a problem with people being critical of the offense that day because they were hot garbage in Pittsburgh. I am sure at some point I was also ripping into them. But the annual declarations that "this is it" has been getting stale in the last 10 years.

I don't get why everything has to be seen in a big picture immediately. The same way no playoff game happened directly after the Steelers game last year there won't be any happening next week.

They still have a couple of weeks to work it out. Their track record is good when it comes to that.

I just went back and read what I said last year in your playoff prediction thread. I said it was a pickem and that if we played 6 times in Arrowhead I wouldn't be surprised if we went 3-3.

How about some of your proclamations from 2015 under your old account. Before it was banned because you don’t have a spare $1,000 in your name to pay off a bet you made. Works both ways, bud.

No not about everyone was down on the team. There is a difference between saying this was a garbage game and the offense (or defense) could not get anything done and -- on the other hand -- those grand proclamations about them going nowhere that people feel necessary to make.

Some people were rightfully disappointed with the game others made it a referendum on how the postseason a month later would go.

If anything lets just take the reactions from last year as a lesson that there really is no point in making those grand statements before the actual playoffs start.

Its just not worth the hand-wringing.

No doubt I'm concerned about the passing game but if anything this team are a bunch of workers and grinders. All we can do is hope they stay true to form and are playing their best football once X-Mas rolls around.

Because on this board there are more fans who believe being a fan entitled them to success, requires them to be disgusted by anything that is imperfect, and are most interested in identifying what’s wrong, than fans who appreciate the success and quality of this franchise and understand the success of this team is based in understanding their strengths and weaknesses, working on improving them and negating the weaknesses through game plan.

that’s this board, the real world is quite the opposite.

Literally if we have just ONE other reciever not named Edelman who can consistently get separation, it would work wonders. It should be Nkeal Harry, the dude is physically the most imposing reciever on the team, he’s 6’4 and they should be throwing him some more one on ones. I thought that’s why bill drafted him. This is actually nothing new because in the past, when gronk wasn’t playing, the offense has been mostly pedestrian besides 2016 when they had Marty Bennett.
