Vrabel Press Conference

Wolf blamed Mayo in the media for the lack of development of his horrible picks.

I can't defend that.

It was one of the saddest displays we've seen so far.

It was as sad as anything Mayo ever said at the podium.
"Once the guys cross that white line, there's nothing I can do for them"
"We're going to win more than 4 games"
"We're going to burn some cash"

I watched that and bb was praising vrable seemed happy until Mcafee brought up the playoff game that with 5min to go vrable pull out and obscured rule that allowed tenn to ru almost two min off the clock without calling a time out. BBs expression changed, he didn't happy, he looked a little angry, like you had to bring that memory up.
I think Belichick was trying to explain that the refs screwed that one up, and that the NFL office agreed with his interpretation of the rule. You can do it 2x, but not 3x because then it becomes a sportsmanship penalty with no run off. The refs refused to give a sportsmanship penalty because Vrabel had his team do a false start and THEN another delay. The refs thought the 2 delays had to be consecutive, which doesn't make any sense, and Belichick and the NFL agreed that the refs were being illogical.

Hilarious that even in a situation where Vrabel beat Belichick with what we all thought was a mastery of the rule book, Belichick is like "No, and apparently I know the rule book better than Vrabel and the refs."

If Vrabel was anything like Belichick, he spoke to the refs before the game and asked them about this rule to make sure their interpretation is the same as his. He didn't come up with this plan on the fly. He knew the game was likely to be close and came into the game with this in his back pocket.

Belichick would do that all the time when he tried to bend the rules by floating the ideas to the refs to make sure it was legal and the refs would run in his direction.

What about the way he kicked off his tenure? "Less of a hard ass vibe", what a pretentious puke. You can't have leadership act like that and expect the team to respond positively. If he stays, they need to find a nice quiet cubicle, with a really nice stapler, away from people.

Mayo after saying that...

Vrabel: Hey Eliot. Here's a list of our priority FA targets. Start calling.
Wolf: I was actually working on a different list, let me dig it up real quick...
Vrabel: *expressionless stare*
Wolf: You know what, it's exactly the same list as this. Great minds think alike. We are collaborating. This is awesome.
Vrabel: *alpha aura intensifies*
Wolf: I'll start calling right away.
Vrabel also needs to be the guy selling the player on why they should come here. When wolf had that job everyone said no one wants to come here.
Any player who heard Vrabel today knows he gets it and we ain’t ****ing around any more

Damn PF2, the Prozac is really working.

Is this a good time to bring up your post in the draft forum where you said you wanted Polk?
Who!??

I can't get over the Jeffery Simmons rumor. And we have an extra 3rd round pick.
I can't express how much he would help this defense enough right now.
What’s the Jeffrey Simmons rumor?

If they have someone above him to make the decisions then they need to run a full search I believe.
This is true unless Vrabel is the one with final say. Then they hired him above Wolf. And they fulfilled Rooney Rule for his search, so everything is ok.

I read a comment from mayos intro pc and he basically said as a coach before you can ask a player to do something you have to prove to him you care about him as a person.

I remember that alarming me then and it turned out to be as scary as the worse case interpretation

I would also really like to know, because I want that MF bad. Team needs him something awful
I looked it up. He liked a tweet saying he should be traded to the patriots to play for Vrabel.

If Simmons is traded for, that likely means Barmore is never playing again.

I think what we should remember is that the offense was deadly with Brady because Brady was so damn smart, not because of Brady’s physical talent. Maye is also very smart and additionally has many physical gifts Tom never had. That offense won them 6 Super Bowls.
I'm unhappy that Maye's first HC in the NFL was Jerod Mayo. Imagine coming into the league and not only have to endure that BS, but defend it at points because you're not the kind of guy to undermine your team, period. Jerod Mayo is BK's dark stain on the Patriots franchise. But Bob can still redeem himself.

Wolf was absolutely correct. Mayo was so far in over his head that he hd no idea how to develop players. You don't need to defend that comment. It was true.
