Vrabel Press Conference

It pisses me off that Eliot Wolfe still has a job and it sounds like he will retain his position. The Krafts are taking half measures and get zero credit for Vrabel. Easiest hire ever.
I don't care! I can't stand it!

Vrabel's version of treating all players, including QB, with the same level of expectations.
What i meant by that was vrable could have just said maye is ''yeah, from what ive seen hes a talented young qb'' i was surprised he didn't say even something generic like that. I was left with the impression that he didn't think maye was . But of course thats just subjective on my part. Its not a big deal

Should Eliot Wolfe still have a job, let alone be in Vrabel’s way?
lol "in his way".

I don't know who Eliot Wolfe is. There's a guy named Eliot Wolf in the Pats front office.

That's interesting, hopefully there is nothing to your concern with how Vrabel phrased his response. He had a lot to cover in a short amount of time which might have been a factor. With Maye being the reason the Pats job is desirable, I can't see a way that he is not a fan. I heard Vrabel will do an interview on EEI tomorrow, we should get much more information then.

So you hope it works out. Great. You cite no fact nor any statement on the part of anyone involved which justifies your expectations, despite there having been many opprotunites for all involved to do so. NO one has made any statement which even implies your take is correct. You are being played, successfully.
Do you think Kraft -- after having just handed Vrabel the keys to the kingdom -- will let Eliot Wolf run roughshod over Mike? Does that make any sense? Or does it make more sense that Vrabel's priorities, when they conflict with Wolf's, will dominate? That said, I don't think Kraft wants Vrabel to dominate the process so much that other voices are silenced (like what happened with BB). So, you get this indeterminate hierarchy, an implicit power structure. And isn't Vrabel bringing in his own personnel guy? That seems to support my argument too.

Who is playing me, and to what effect? This is all fun speculation, but your panties are all in a bunch over it. Without a good internal source, all we can do is speculate. You make a hypothesis and adapt as new information comes in. If you only want to discuss COLD HARD FACTS like some hardboiled noir detective, okay...

I completely disagree.
I would throw it all away.
Every personnel decision that Wolf team made has been wrong.
Clearly free agency and the draft this year - with the exception of catching whichever QB fell to them at #3.
And no one knows how much influence he had over Belichick in the recent offseasons, but as head of scouting, it was his role to inform & influence Belichick.

I would rather buy a draft magazine than rely on careful analysis from this team.

It does not matter if you disagree or if you would throw it all away. You are not Kraft, in the front office, or Vrabel. Perhaps you think they should all listen to you, but I don't care about that either. We are under 2 months until free agency opens, and 100 days until the draft. Guys are employed all year long to produce that data. You don't just can everyone and start new right now. You use them and then dump them.

Every personnel decision Wolf made was wrong? Are you a drama queen or something? I am not a Wolf fan, but he drafted Maye. That was not wrong. He extended Barmore. That was not wrong unless you are an idiot who says Wolf should have known Barmore would have blood clots. Antonio Gibson was not wrong. He was a great signing. Jabrill Peppers was brought back. There is now way anyone knew he would have legal trouble which seems to be a false accusation at this point. Mac Jones was traded to the Jags for a 6th. I would have been happy if we gave the Jags a 6th just to take him. Matt Judon was traded to Atlanta for a 3rd round pick. Its Judon's worst year since he was a rookie. Auston Hooper was signed and had a good year. Hunter Henry was brought back. Where would Drake have been without him this year?

Can you just stop being a drama queen for a moment and live in reality? Maybe its fair to say Wolf had more negative than positive, but not every decision he made was wrong.

Yeah I'm pretty much leaning towards this. I mean, any young guy is going to be gunning for a HC position. He could be with Maye for years.
I think what we should remember is that the offense was deadly with Brady because Brady was so damn smart, not because of Brady’s physical talent. Maye is also very smart and additionally has many physical gifts Tom never had. That offense won them 6 Super Bowls.

I saw that. I bet his wife got a charge out of that. Probably got home to a deadpan "Nice, Michael."

Vrabel's wife is a babe. Guregian, on the other hand ... Let's just say there's no basis for concern.

Parcells - Carroll - The GOAT BB - ???? - Vrabel = The Krafts have done very well when we think about it: nobody is perfect.

Damn PF2, the Prozac is really working.

Is this a good time to bring up your post in the draft forum where you said you wanted Polk?

Wolf blamed Mayo in the media for the lack of development of his horrible picks.

I can't defend that.

It was one of the saddest displays we've seen so far.

It was as sad as anything Mayo ever said at the podium.
