Vrabel Press Conference

We agree on Wolf, but I am concerned with noncommittal response over who has final say. The line of command should be clear and unambiguous.
The line of command will be clear within the team. The fans and media are a different story.

Nothing egregious has surfaced to make us dismay. There's no point judging before anything really happens. Right now we can hope without taking it to the bank, or doubt without bringing out the axe. Hence we wait.
Good waiters get good tips, or did until someone decided to tax them.

I'm as happy with Vrabel as I was with Mayo and for the same reason. They're both ex-Patriots. I'm much more confident about Vrabel though.

The only confirmed backstabber in this is Wolf. I suppose Vrabel might at some point, human nature being what it is, stab back, but there are two culprits in what I predict will develop into a serious problem - series of problems. First, and most to blame, are the Krafts, who in insisting that Wolf remain as their inside man - a sort of intrusive hall monitor - have set up what will inevitably be a contentious - and failed - relationship between Wolf and Vrabel. We ought not be surprised at this. As with Mayo, a seemingly failing Robert has apparently developed some sort of man crush on Wolf and wants him around as a kind of binky. He ignored Mayo's incompetence and lack of character: now he is doing the same with Wolf. The second culprit, not the primary one but certainly the most baffling one, is Vrabel himself, who has foolishly acquiesced in an arrangement doomed to fail. He ought to have insisted on a publicly announced and categorical policy under which he or or his designee has absolute final say on all roster decisions., and on who will serve as GM. We hear Vrabel is a tough guy. In this matter, he has apparently been anything but. We thought he was a hardo - a significant reason he was hired after Mayo's confused Oprahesque babbling - but I wonder: first this weak move then that weird touchy feely press conference. Weird, and unwise.
While I don't really understand why Wolf is staying around either, unless it is to provide cover to bring in the new guy without Rooney related delays. I am not too concerned because it is clear that Vrabel is in charge, the Pats have returned to a coach central model. If necessary Vrabel will not hesitate to stab Wolf right between the eyes, not in the back.

You can just tell Vrabel gets it. He knows what he wants.
With Mayo it was just a bunch of cliches that it felt like even he didn’t believe.

If we had hired Vrabel last year we would have won at least 8 games.
Now that it's over I'm glad it went this way, rather have Abdul Carter than a few more wins and a mid-first picking a weak draft. However, if they just lost that last freaking game.....!

The floor is low with Vrabel, he is a good coach, but the ceiling is pretty high also.

Hopefully everyone that is still in the building learned a lesson.

Looking at it full view.. the last few seasons needed to go the way it went in order for real changes for the better to happen. When we were winning all those years it was no pressure on the organization to change anything. I just feel so confident in Vrabel that he can help restore us to contender.

I'd also add Vrabel and Billy O are very close.. I'd watch the BC/NE pipeline.. like Bill used to have with Rutgers. Carter feels like the right pick..

Like I said Ivan I am Not giving up on Polk we'll see now with Vrabel in the House. Good Coaching matters and we didn't have that.
PF2 I give you props you have been in on polk since last off season.. he's still a good WR.. he will be in a functioning offense with top tier coaching.. under Mayo felt like a bunch of volunteer coaches.

No one asked the most pressing question. Color. Does he see color?
As a former Mayo supporter.. I should have picked up on things when he said that.. comment..

The Rutgers pipeline had more to do with his son being at Rutgers in 2011. 16 players from that squad made it to the Pros.

You have to think that Titans fans and coaches are pissed with Simmons for that tweet. I wonder what it would take to pry him away.

Looks like his dead cap hit in 2025 is 20 million. Not happening.

Not surprising, Vrabel was probably a much better coach to play for than Brian Callahan.
