Vrabel Press Conference

Y'know the more I think about it, it dawns on me that it kinda feels like Vrabel is just the extrovert version of Bill.
I was thinking the same thing.

Aside from the not winning, I think that was Kraft's biggest problem with Bill. Not much of a pro-active communicator, close to the vest.

While Vrabes definitely is measured and will keep things close to the vest, he'll reach out and tell Bob what is going on. It's all about relationships with him and I think Bob is the same way.

I had forgotten how much of a Grade A ballbuster Vrabel is....wow. The crack about Felger was hysterical.

I would also really like to know, because I want that MF bad. Team needs him something awful
And to add.. Titans are going through a transition as well thier front office and Levis isn't the answer at QB.. get the beast in here please!!!

In the beginning of his segment on WEEI this morning, Vrabel was talking to Wiggy about their playing days and playing TE and stuff. Greg mentioned Christian Fauria and that Vrabel "started stealing his catches in the red zone". Vrabel responded "it wasn't hard to steal catches from Christian."

Absolutely... I know he said he will take his time.. but I believe it's a forgone conclusion it has to be McDaniels.
They might already have a verbal agreement in place. Need to do the Rooney thing first.

All I could think of yesterday is he was a combination of Parcells and Belichick.

Agreed .. I swear I'd love for Drake to have Josh as OC and QBs coach...

It feels like the local media has to get all of the "Remember that time you did ____" out of their system.

A lot of the stuff Vrabel said about what kind of offense he wants lines up very neatly with Josh McDaniels.
-Efficient passing game, not trying to be "bombs away"
-Very adaptable, able to change based on what a defense is doing
-Can be simplified or made more complex, made to fit what the players on the roster can handle
-Tough WRs with good hands were emphasized, as opposed to burners

Yeah, I think Kraft would love it. I know Vrabel and others don't like the term "Patriot Way" but bringing back Josh again is 100% the Patriot Way.

While I don't really understand why Wolf is staying around either, unless it is to provide cover to bring in the new guy without Rooney related delays. I am not too concerned because it is clear that Vrabel is in charge, the Pats have returned to a coach central model. If necessary Vrabel will not hesitate to stab Wolf right between the eyes, not in the back.
I see no basis whatever for assuming that "it is clear Vrabel is in charge." If by "being in charge" you mean "has final say in all roster decisions," literally no one - no one - including despite multiple opportunities over the past several days, Vrabel himself - has said that that is the case. Even if you are right in assuming that this is a contest in which Vrabel will in the end prevail, I have no idea why - particularly given Wolf's failed performance under two previous coaches - the Krafts would permit a situation in which the distractions of such a contest are allowed. It looks worrisomely like the Mayo situation in which another of Robert's talentless binkies is forced, without any attention to actual qualification, upon the team. It was a stupid basis for hiring Mayo, and it is stupid basis for retaining Wolf.

I have no idea why Vrabel is being such a wuss about it: surprising given the nature of the hype leading up to his hire, isn't it?

Wolf should have been fired when Mayo was fired. I hear a lot of happy talk about how it will all work out, but I have heard literally no statement and seen no empiricsl evidence that that is the case.

Hopefully I am not reading too much into this, but I get the feeling most Pats fans approve of the Vrabel hire and are not missing Mayo all that much.

But maybe it’s just me.
I do wonder if things go sideways if we'll hear from a lot of people saying, "I wanted BJ."
