Von Miller Under Criminal Investigation

I look forward to this thread being a calm and rational discussion covering random speculation based primarily on people's emotional baggage from past relationships.

I look forward to YOUR unsolicited admission that your cathouse startup in Loughlin,N.V. is a prodigious failure and the fact that your recent sex life has been limited by Covid to weekly workouts with Lefty Palmer.:p

Except where was all this media hate for...the Packers, Cowboys, Steelers, 49ers et al.?

It isn't. Meanwhile media hatred of the Patriots has been consistent since the merger in 1970. Win or lose.
Different situations.

People hated the 90's Cowboys and they are one of the most disliked fanbases of all time. They are also the closest to our era. That said they won 3 out of 4 and fizzled out. It would be like if we became mediocre after 2006.

Look at the 49'ers. They won the SB in 81, then went 3-6 the next year, they went 10-6 and lost the NFCCG in 83. Then got a second in 1984. That was the start of their dynasty and being a multi SB team. Then the next 3 years they went 1 and done and were overshadowed by the Bears and Giants. The starting QB was getting banged up, they had a QB controversy, and Montana was pulled from a playoff game. So they had a big down period right after their second title. Then they won back to back titles to get 4. Which you would think okay now they are in that elite annoying tier... but then they missed the playoffs and lost Joe Montana. So the architects of the dynasty were out of the picture. Then they transitioned into a phase where Steve Young was trying to "get the monkey off his back" while the big bad Cowboys were starting to establish a dynasty and taking the heat off them.

Compare that to this. Patriots win in 2001, miss out on the playoffs with a tiebreaker, win 2 more and establish a dynasty. We are pretty loved at this point. Then we have an okay year but we run out of steam in 05. In 06 we are perceived as vulnerable but we upset the best team in the entire league and change the entire complextion of the playoffs and the world got to root for our rival to overcome his own monkey against us. Then in 07 we go undefeated and raise terror accross the league and are the most talked about story that season. Then our dark period is Brady getting injured in 08 and us still winning in spite of it and then in 09 we get beat down by Baltimore. We are once again the top team in the league in 2010 with an MVP campaign, we go a SB the next year, we then go to two AFCCG's the next two years and finally win a SB in 2014. Then we spend the next 4 years going to the semi final, winning a SB, losing a SB, and winning a SB before finally having an off year and Brady leaving.

We ****ing dominated this league for nearly 20 years. From 2011-2018 only one team that wasn't us or didn't have to beat us in one of the last two teams won the SB (the 2013 Seahawks).

Allegations at this point. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. I don’t get these dudes and their attraction to plastic.
No, I get it. I know you've seen some of these IG thots. You mean to tell me you wouldn't with any of them? No temptation?

Had to Google what an IG Thot was. If my time on Patsfan decreases over the next few days, don't worry.

And just think, while Harper's Muff is playing-out in Denver, in another, very easily-attainable reality, our WRs dressing for that game are:
Golden Tate, Marvin Jones, his old UCal teammate Keenan Allen, and rookie receiver/returner Tyler Lockett.
That same reality has us hosting the AFCCG...and later facing Scam Newton in the SB...

It bothers me way too much that when I think of our dynasty run I think more about how we were couple of plays from going to play a pathetic Bears team for an easy title, then one missed interception from an undefeated season, then one missed pass from a title in 2011, then one decent stop from a title in 2017. Could have had 10.

Or just wear a condom and if they think they are getting their hands in your pockets cut them loose.

America's Team. They were hated in the 70's by many but still respected. They were annoying in the 90's but nobody accused them of cheating.

Three (3) seasons one and done with two division titles and one second place is...a "big down period"?! A big down period is us from 1990-92 with no quarterback because Kiam let Flutie go to set unbreakable records and win titles in Canada. DeBartolo Jr. was the one who insisted they keep Montana despite his injuries and age and they therefore won the two more. Then they chose to ditch Montana and got one more with Young. They were consistently very good and competitive for 18 years (only the strike season was a losing one). There was no hatred of them. Or cheating allegations.

Meanwhile, the Patriots are referred to as a 'laughingstock' when from 1976-88 they had one (1) losing season in thirteen years, missing the playoffs by a single game or tiebreaker seven times.

Compare that to this. Patriots win in 2001, miss out on the playoffs with a tiebreaker, win 2 more and establish a dynasty. We are pretty loved at this point.
OMG no. The Tuck Rule. Steelers were 'the better team." "They hate their coach." After beating the Eagles, BSPN was desperate to declare the dynasty 'over'.

Then we have an okay year but we run out of steam in 05. In 06 we are perceived as vulnerable but we upset the best team in the entire league and change the entire complextion of the playoffs and the world got to root for our rival to overcome his own monkey against us.
Cheating allegations and hatred are building to a crescendo, as Goodell takes over with Kraft's endorsement and support. The first of three (3) fake scandals including defamation and stolen draft picks empowers, enables and officially corroborates all the crybaby cheating accusers. The world believes the Patriots cheated.

Then in 07 we go undefeated and raise terror accross the league and are the most talked about story that season.
Giants insult the Patriots and any normal decent person trash talking about funerals when the Patriots have Marquise Hill's number on their helmets all season to honor the guy who saved his girlfriend's life before drowning. This, weeks after they went along with treating Sean Taylor, who died at the same age, like a head of state.

I've told you several times, trans Catgirls are the future of sex.

You do realize the "America's team" motto came from the 70's Cowboys right? Back then you barely saw most national teams and if your team sucked you were either watching them or the Cowboys/Steelers/Vikings. In the 90's their run lasted for 4-5 years and then everyone moved on because the Farve Packers then Broncos and the GSOT showed up to take their steam.

Yeah 3 one and dones is a pretty big down period when you consider that the Patriots never went more than 3 seasons without going to a SB and only had 3 one and dones across 19 seasons (and one of those was literally the last season) while the Niner's run lasted half the time. And yeah you can say the Niner's were consistently good after, but a literal dynasty occured during the Steve Young ever so there was no reason for them to be considered the top dogs in the NFL like we were.

The tuck rule was a big call. They were still the feel good story of 01 and everyone liked those early Patriots teams. It's kinda silly to say that one commentator once said they hate their coach. That **** happens with any team. McCarthy dealt with that, Tomlin gets critcized all the time, Carroll gets ripped apart for one play call, Payton got villified for Bountygate when it was really his DC. By and large from 01-04 the Pats were generally a popular team. The hatred really started in 07 when Spygate happened and we were beating the **** out of teams. By that point we had been dominant for the better part of a decade and looked to be cruising to a 4th title on the most dominant team ever. That was 7 years into our run. Look at the Cowboys by comparison in the 90's, unlike us they won their first in 92 (so a year later) had their 3 out of 4, then by 97 they were done and having losing seasons. The Niner's got their first in 81. By 87 they had 2 titles and were dissapointing each year in the playoffs before they had a quick burst and then Montana was gone and a new dynasty would arise in a couple of years. It's completely different. We went to 9 SB's in our run, the Cowboys in the 90's went to 3 and the Niner's in the 80's went to 4, 5 if you want to count the one off in the 90's when the Cowboys run was starting. It was a lot easier for us to be the big bad of the NFL when we were either winning the SB, in the SB, or the gatekeeper to get in the SB for nearly 20 years without any losing seasons (which in a shorter period of time, all those teams you mentioned had losing seasons).

Some men assault women.
Some women lie about being assaulted.

I have no idea what the facts of this situation are - or if it even involves a hypothetical assault of an ex - but I look forward to hearing what the police find.
Yes, I wholeheartedly agree.

My point is that some posters here assume/imply that all allegations of assault/abuse (coming from women) are baseless, and then proceed to accuse said women of lying.

The latter is just as much an "allegation".

As you said, at the end of the day, facts and objective reality should determine what (if any) subsequent steps are taken.
