Sounds more like he's looking forward to watching football today since he doesn't have a game to cover?
While I understand « a day off from work », this is the type of comment you could keep to yourself, Volin. Maybe talk about it with whatever friends or family you have. It’s a bad look, regardless. That's exactly my point. He doesn't love what he's doing, it's a chore to him.

Compare & contrast to Reiss, who has a family he’d surely love to spend time with on Sundays. Instead, he often refers to how lucky he feels - covering NE. He is prepared, informed, and doesn’t feel like he needs to be « hard hitting » to make a go at it.
Reiss vs Volin is similar to NFL team vs High school team.
Reiss is the New England Patriots
Volin is the Miami Dolphins

When you’re married to someone, love and passion becomes responsibility and responsibility becomes obligation and obligation becomes chore and chore becomes grind and grind becomes...
I’m totally talking about the patriots here.
Then you're stuck in a bad marriage, buddy.
You are too tolerant. You people are too sensitive.
Absolutely correct, Volin was the Fins beat writer for the Palm Beach Post. He should return to the crap team he is a fan of.Reiss is the New England Patriots
Volin is the Miami Dolphins
