This is an interesting dilemma- on the one hand, picking on a teammate is a form of bonding, and also a way to put a rookie in his place, but how far do you go with this?
Obviously full-blown hazing is detrimental to the concept of teamwork; nothing divides a team like taking sides on an issue within the team. Where do you draw the line?
WAY before pretty much the entire team piling on a guy repeatedly, assuming that that's what happened. IF that's so the team captains needed to step in.
Alternatively, it could be that the guy has a fragile psyche.
