Van Noy Cut

Hope this means a youth movement is coming at LB. It's time to add some speed an athleticism at that position. In addition Van Noy never struck me as a "locker room guy" and more of a pain in the ass. Glad we are moving on and saving some money.

Is the fire Hydrant Hightower next?? And thanks for the memories Van Noy.

Also I wonder if this is some cap maneuvering for a potential trade.

5 million in cap savings, maybe enough to drop the franchise tag????

yup, I called Van Noy is a prime cut candidate in the Amari Cooper thread...

Clearing space for Amari??

Judon, Uche & Perkins should be their OLB rotation. Enough of playing slow vets that are more edge setters than pass rushers over younger players with upside (Simon, Van Noy).

And so it begins
hopefully more moves to come

That's a start.

I would like to see Judon on the outside and some rotation of McGrone, Uche, Perkins, and Winovich for the rest of the LB group. Jennings looks to be a bigger slower guy which is what I am hoping we move on from.

HT is a free agent. Not sure why you think they need to cut him.

Anyone really surprised by this?

Had mentioned Van Noy being cut at the end of the season. He did his own thing too much and it showed.

Not a surprise. He had a few games where he played like his 2019 and before self, but mostly he looked old and slow.

So, KVN released by MIA and the NEP. Not good for the resume for a raise. Next step vet minimum for someone?

Not surprised. I thought he played alright last year, but faded towards the end (to be fair, a lot of the defense did). It's also a pretty deep draft at LB, and it's time to really see if Uche, Wino (if he's not next), and Perkins have what it takes.

Thanks Kyle! You were worth your money for SB 53 alone.
