Thank you very insightful if your 3d Down RB cannot Block he's pretty much useless scratch Archer off the list.
Dri is just so small. I was at the HoF game standing in the EZ when he returned a kickoff -- *I* am bigger than him, and I imagine most of the posters on this board are as well. Dion Lewis is a giant by comparision, I'm guessing he has 20-30 lbs on Archer.

Archer is considered Haley's attempt to create a Dexter McCluster-type back in Pittsburgh, so there was buy-in by the play caller himself, and God knows Haley tried quite a bit to involve him last year. But it probably says something that we gave up on a 3rd rounder less than two years in, even with that kind of initial support from the coaching staff. His speed and playmaking ability just never translated to the field.

What is the chance he gains that explosiveness back next season?

I feel bad for Dion. He finally fought his was back into the league and then tears an acl. I am glad he signed a contract and at least has some financial stability. I hope he has a full recovery and can get back on the field next year. Time for White to step up and earn his keep.

I would say once you got it you got it he's still young not many miles on tires atleast we now know what we have.

Poor kid. He finally starts living the dream and then this. I hope he wins comeback player of the year along with a second ring next year.

God I feel sick to my stomach. So sad. Get well man. #winitfordion

Lets not get ****oo here. Vereen was not in Faulks league. Lewis looked like he was going to have an incredible year (rivaling several Faulks best years - key SEVERAL) but unfortunately we need to wait for next year. And I hope DL is back and the same player.

Faulk was a special player and an incredible blocker and ST guy. You very rarely see a player with his skill set, and leadership, and versatility who can do it at a pace of AVG 15 games a year for 13 years straight. Incredibly dependable for what he did at RB and ST.
Faulk was great, and he played many years in a very different offense than this, but he averaged about 650 yards from scrimmage in his 11 prime years here (1999-2009). Dion is going on the shelf after racking up 622 yards in 7 games. I'm not saying he's better than Faulk, but Faulk never did the things that Dion has done this year as a runner or receiver. His blocking was probably better.

This sucks...and can we stop with the "next man up!" bullsh#t? Next man up hasn't "worked" since 2003 or 2004 when Belichick put together a patchwork secondary that could succeed pre Polian rules. U could mug guys all over the field back then.

How did "next man up" work in 2013? How did "next man up" work in 2012? If the ultimate goal is to win the Super Bowl, then "next man up" is a crock. If the ultimate goal is to win a division round game, then cool, it works.

I firmly believe injuries are the only thing that has stopped this team in the playoffs of late. Whether it be Talib getting hurt in 2012 & 2013 or Gronkowski being 25% in 2011 and out in 12 & 13. Teams can only overcome a certain amount of injuries. I fully expect the Pats to be without Sheard, Vollmer, Cannon, Tre Jackson for 3-6 weeks. Most of this is simply due to the way the pats handle their injury reporting - we regularly see guys get off the field on their power & next thing u know they're out for 4-6 weeks.

The Pats offense was pretty close to unstoppable with a healthy Dion Lewis. The offense has looked very pedestrian without Lewis. 13 points without him yesterday vs a pretty average Washington D, and vs the NYJ without Lewis the offense sucked until the last two drives.

I'm very worried about the loss of Lewis. Coupled with an offensive line in tatters, it could derail the season. By derail i mean no super bowl. I am praying for good news on Vollmer, but please tell me the last time the Pats got any "good" injury news. Again, I'm betting Vollmer's out an extended period and DEFINITELY won't be back for Sunday...

This was a big blow. I hope tb continues to have that connection with lafell. Can't afford any more injuries on the offensive side.

Lewis was a security blanket for tom. Our skill players have to step up and make plays. If dobson hadn't been such a bust then we would have plenty of options.

White being inactive says nothing other than Lewis is better and Bolden is an acceptable emergency option. The one game Lewis missed, it was all White.

Bolden is also very good on ST.

The situation isn't anywhere near as bad as 2013, or even 2012 (when Gronk went down.)

No need to get all emo.

This sucks. Time to follow the 5 stages of loss and grief and move on.

It's an important player, but not Brady, Gronk, Collins or BB.

I'm expecting someone to call Cadet. I was high (maybe because of residue from 20 years ago) on him in camp and I contend if he hadn't gotten hurt he would be on this team.

Really sucks for him, at least he had 8 games to show his worth and it happened early enough in the year that he should be ready next Sep
