If they miss the playoffs again, I’m fine with the team moving on. I’d give most coaches 3 years to start turning the team around. With him, I’d give 5. If at the end of the year, he only has two playoff appearances in a half decade (one of which with Brady) and no wins in the postseason to show for it, it’s time to rip the Band-Aid off and move in a new direction.
He’s also one of the oldest coaches in NFL history and there’s a legitimate question over how long he really wants to continue this kind of grind and be willing to put his all into it.
Now, if the team starts turning it around and becomes a contender in the AFC? **** yeah. Winning cures everything. Let him coach until he doesn’t want to anymore.
