Update: Curran says Belichick has been on the hot seat since 2019

What does that even mean “you are ok with the last 4 years”?
It is what it is. I have no control over it. I wish they won 4 SBs the last 4 years.

You act as if being ok or not means something. So if you are “not ok with it” so what? What does that mean?
What would it change?

My take: We have the greatest ever, who had produced the greatest result ever over the longest run ever. Now is a down time and they are working to rebuild. I believe there is no more talented coach or GM now or ever, so why would I dismiss all of that success to call for doing something stupid? Do you really think the New England Patriots would have been or will be better under someone else?
Do you really think if BB retired in 2019 we would be better shape today?

This board has become an exercise in petulant children thinking they are entitled to success in something they have absolutely nothing to do with and if they don’t get it they are going to really complain because damn it they deserve “to at least make and win playoff games”
The Owner of the Franchise disagrees with you. I don’t know what else to tell you.

The owner of the franchise owns the franchise.
And who says he disagrees with me? I think he totally agrees with me. Winning every year is great, but unrealistic and he has the absolute best there is running the organization and has delivered him the best results ever.
How does he disagree with me?

He said he’s bothered by not winning a playoff game in the last 3 years. You are fine with that because of the prior success. Sorry to break it to you, but most business people don’t think like this.

Again, when you start paying people millions of dollars, your thinking will change.

When you start paying people millions you will realize that you do that to get the best people in place.
You will also realize they when you are competing on equal footing with 31 opponents so the stupid thing to do is get rid of the best people because of a down cycle. Belichick didn’t forget what he knows.

Are you still saying the 18th ranked scoring offense had the best QB play in the NFL in 2020?
Offense is made up of the coordinator, offensive line, TE's, RB's, WR's and the QB... you would have us believe QB's play alone in a vacuum and their ability to succeed or fail is based solely on their skill level and some invisible "clutch gene" that doesn't appear in stats... it's only visible in who wins.

Joe Burrow's last two exits from the playoffs he was sacked 7 and 5 times, but that had no bearing on why his team lost. It wasn't that, it was his lack of a clutch gene.

Laughable... delusional... all of the above.

I have made voluminous posts explaining this topic to you. Why you would miscast everything I said to result in pretending I think QBs are all that matter or making some bizarre claim about a clutch gene is strange.

Brees had an entire career to turn his okay on the title into wining. Singling out 3 years as if going 7-9 with s bad defense is a feather in his cap to gloss over the obvious fact that his cumulative stats overrate him is dishonest.
Brees played 20 years. His ability as a qb resulted in contributing to his team winning 9 playoff games, 3 in one year with a loaded team, and a total of 6 in the other 19 years.

If you judge a QB by cumulative statistics Brees is one of the greatest few ever. If you judge a QB by their contribution to winning he isn’t close to that.
I think this conversation is over... when one finds themselves debating a room full of flat Earther's it's best just to get out of there.

I'll just finish with this, QB is the most important position in football, and you people overrate them at a wildly extreme level.

You’re defending him over not getting to the playoffs and/or a playoff victory. Daboll did this in his first year with that crap roster in New York. Doug Pederson did it in Jacksonville his first year.

Most fans are probably not expecting to be Super Bowl contenders. To think otherwise is unrealistic. But If getting back to the playoffs and/or winning a game with now 7 teams is too difficult of a task for Bill when he makes all the decisions and not at the mercy of a GM, then he is not the right guy for the job anymore.

I would have you believe that if:
1) points are far and away must important
2) the guy who scored the 18 th most points wasn’t the best because of how many yards he had

You are telling me he was the best QB in the NFL.

So your conclusion is an 80 yard drive when you are losing by 30 points is exactly the same as an 80 yard drive when you are down by 6. Gotcha. You are wrong.

FYI Burrow had opportunities to win those games and didn’t and a sack is affected by both the qb and the OL. But it’s only you who thinks Qb is the only player on the field.

I am not defending anything. Please quote my words where I defend it.

Success is defined by Super Bowls. Moral victories are meaningless.
Who said winning playoff games is too difficult of a task for the guy who won the most playoff games ever? Are you actually listening to yourself. You act like you are taking about Marvin Lewis

Okay. We’re done with this as this conversation is going nowhere.

Says the guy who thinks points is most important and ranks the guy 18th in points and 1st in yards against prevent defense best in the NFL.

Football games are win and lost on the field not in a cumulation of stats.

You should be done, you have embarrassed yourself enough

Points is the most important stat in football... it's literally how they determine wins and losses.

If you don't understand that, you should try watching something you can understand, like competitive basketweaving.

You believe in superheroes, you should be embarrassed but aren't smart enough to realize how foolish that is.

I know points are the most important thing, yiu are the one saying a lot of passing yards and few points is what defined greatness

You are literally now taking my side and arguing against yourself.

You earn the L. Self inflicted.

It’s going nowhere because you are not having an honest discussion, and are purposely misrepresenting my comments. But you know that.

Drew Brees offense's rankings from 2014-2016 in points scored: 5th, 6th, 2nd.

He had no problem scoring... he won 7 games three years in a row because his defense was ranked 32nd worst.

Deshaun Watson had the 6th most passing TD's in the NFL in 2020, along with leading the league in total offense, passing and QB Rating... this despite being on a bad team.

You can't keep up with your own logic, because it's completely flawed.

Brees was a good QB from 14-16, not a great one.

6th in pasig tds and 18th in scoring is still 18th in scoring.

Ny argument has been completely consistent all along. You may be confused because yiu keep making up arguments to argue against that aren’t mine.

Yeah… Drew Brees.. not “elite” enough, solid reasoning.

It wasn’t his 32nd ranked defense… again… flat Earth theorist.
