Who here thinks they win the SB with Hoyer? If the answer is no, as it should be, why keep him over Stidham? Why and how does that even make sense? If they think Hoyer runs the scout team better and that is an identified must have then fine keep Hoyer. Outside of that...
Many teams should also cut their starter in that caseIf that's the criteria by which backup QBs are judged then every team in the league is cutting their backup this weekend.
Backups are generally there to win you a game or two if the need arises, nothing more.
He shouldn't be cut, but people in this thread are saying Stidham has looked just as good or better and makes Hoyer cuttable which is completely false.
No but he probably shouldn't have his knob sucked so hard by a particular posterMaybe I missed it but are people really thinking Stidham will get cut?
No doubt Hoyer has looked better overall as would be expected. Isn’t BB’s idea that if he can get 80 percent of play from player B over player A he would cut player A? My take is why cut a player from another spot you may need to keep a backup QB you kinda don’t really need?

Such a great post. OMG like killer post. Great post. The Stidham fan girls in this thread are out of control. He is promising but merely a developmental rookie QB. He should only play a regular season game as an emergency.
Not in a BB system. Actually the offense with its run game is well suited for a young QB. Kinda like when Brady took the reigns...
Everything Stidham needs to learn are developmentally appropriate at this stage: see multiple receivers in a brief period of time, get to the open guy more quickly. Anybody else remember a hesitant Brady who often settled for the first guy he looked at during his first year?
Prepare to explain what a pipe isYou too, put down the pipe.
Because we are idiots.A lot of people forget how unimpressive Brady really was to a lot of people. I remember heated debates in college about Brady in ‘01.

Idea is to open up roster spot for another position of more dire need where you may have a player on the bubble that would be more beneficial to the team.....worst case scenario for Pats if something happens to Brady is to sign one of many backups if Stidham isn’t somehow ready to do Cassel offense....
There was a bit of it earlier in the thread.I have no idea what you are talking about.
There are forum members who are openly wondering about the risk/reward of Hoyer vs. a different use of a roster spot (OL depth, for example). But I haven't seen a post that anoints Stidham as better than Hoyer at this point.
He wasn't on my radar til I remember a episode a patriots football weekly and it said if you didnt know any better you would think this is Tom's team and not Drew's this was in his rookie seasonA lot of people forget how unimpressive Brady really was to a lot of people.
