We better just put Onwenu @RT and call it a day.
As far as fixing the problems that wouldn’t even be the breakfast orange juice much less the day.

OMG. And the excuses start. No-one will ever sign with the Pats because of .................................................. Please, pay the FA and they will sign.
It’s not like we had 40 mill laying around. Oh, wait, never mind

We could have signed Tyron Smith in FA. The Pats went cheap and signed Okorafor instead. Smith is a professional, on a 1 year contract, and even at 33 he is WAY better than Lowe. But we saved $4M we can roll over into 2025
Does he not get a say? I would put everything I own on him not agreeing to play here. Just cuz we have the money and you want it really badly doesn't mean it will happen.

Yup.

Our billionaire owner drives a Bentley to a FL strip mall massage parlor.

Our ingenious GM found a "diamond in the rough LT" in the 3rd round and then crowed about it on draft day. Since then Lowe has beaten out the "diamaond".

The solution is usually quite simple. Sign an older All Pro for one or two years and draft a LT in R1 in 2024 or 2025.
They don’t want to win this year.

Get used to being outclassed by the opponent.
Philly is paying the following guys for less than the 43 million we chose not to spend (all acquired none drafted)
AJ Brown
Saquan Barkley
Devin White
Darius Slay
Bryce Huff
James Bradbury
Mekhi Becton

Are better with 43 mill in Krafts pocket or players like that and 5 mill left?

Ever since free agency started good players have signed with bad teams. We may be the only bad team in history who didn’t sign a single FA at or above the league average for their position.

Brissett is getting better protection but has spotty accuracy. Maye has been accurate but has **** tier protection. I think it's time to play Maye with the 1s vs the Eagles for day 2 tomorrow and see what you get.
There is no day 2. Mayo didnt want to have one because he thinks they devolve into chaos.

Aside from signing Brissett we had 55,000,000 of cap space available in free agency. With that we got:

A#3/4 WR
A #2/3 TE
A backup IOL
A RT who was benched last year and couldn’t find anyone willing to pay him more than 1 year 4 mill with less than 1 mill guaranteed at age 27
A journey man DT who played 24% of the snaps last year who couldn’t get more than 1 year 2.1 mill 800k guaranteed at age 28
A backup RB who earned 65 carries on a terrible Washington team that phased him out

We spend 12 mill of the 55 mill to get that bonanza of difference makers and left the rest in Bob Krafts pocket.

On a 4 win team.

HEY!

I'll have you know that $40 million does not just "lie around" on my watch!

Why bother we aren’t even trying to win games this year.

Outrageous they're entering the season with so much cap space.

This has been a common strategy in the league for many years.

Teams like Cleveland/Jacksonville/Cincinnati had the most cap money at the beginning of their rebuilds.

The issue is draft mismanagement, and free agent choices made.

Having a lot of cap at this stage of a rebuild is a good idea.

No those teams have always been cheap and with 1 exception in 1 season haven’t won anything.

You asked for a name. Now you are asking for a slam dunk and a guarantee. Which is it?

Yes, I want a name that has a high likelihood of improving the situation. And while Smith may have done that, it's not weird to think a guy who's missed 50% of the games the last four years isn't going to make much difference if he's on IR. And I've already said multiple times that I would have taken him too. But IMO he's not worth *****ing about as though it was some kind of obvious whiff on the part of the Patriots. He has risk, and there's reason to believe he wasn't interested in signing here anyway.

In February the Pats had over $85M in cap space. Tyron Smith cost about $2.5M more than Okorafor.
