We only had 2 previous winners? wow
Makes you wonder how long this award has been around? Can’t imagine it was around during the 90’s Curtis Martin, Terry Glenn rookie seasons.

I don’t think he comes close to winning OROY, too many good candidates having stellar seasons.
I guess. Stats show hes neck and neck with those other stellar options at their current pace. Hes really been making up ground over the past few weeks. If he continues on his current pace he could make it a race.

It's a media award.

Jaxson Dart, Emeka Egbuka, Tyler Warren and Tet McMillan all with a sizeable lead in media hype.

And narratives swing dramatically week to week. Minimum, it will be fun to track as the season winds down.

From what I've seen Egbuka has been deserving.

Don'r know about McMillian and Warren, but Dart's a no.

McMillan numbers are now better than Egbuka
Egbuka has 1 game over 58 receiving yards and 1 TD total in his last 7 games

Jaxon Dart took a fairly sizable hit last week.

Henderson is similarly sized and has similar athleticism to Jahmyr Gibbs, neither is big but both have speed in spades.

Similar size and speed, but they are not similar in playing style. Henderson is nowhere near as elusive as Gibbs, Henderson tries to beat you with straight line speed, whereas Gibbs beats you with jukes, and once he gets into the open, he’s gone. Both are strong for their size. Gibbs reminds me of a super fast Curtis Martin. Martin had excellent elusiveness. Henderson reminds me of James Cook.

Jahmyr Gibbs' rookie season: 1261 yards from scrimmage, 11 YDs.

I think a lot was put on Egbuka's shoulders with the injuries, and he's been hurt, so maybe that drops him back,

But he looked pretty good out of the gate, and I thought he toughed out the game against us.

I don't really watch Carolina so don't know McMillian beyond the numbers.. Tampa Bay I catch.

Well deserved, glad Vrabel reconstructed the O-line and picked a back in the 2nd round. Great decisions leads to Treys success.

If Trey keeps up this recent trends (past 5 games), hed be projected to finish with 1224 yards from scrimmage and 10 TDs.

Outstanding 2nd round pick regardless. Havent been able to say that often.
Recently, at least. But Belichick did hit on Christian Barmore in 2021.

I thought Egbuka was having a much better year before I looked it up.

They've done quite well when they haven't gone WR or CB.

Jahmyr Gibbs' rookie season: 1261 yards from scrimmage, 11 YDs.
Henderson will fall short of that, but only a little short. 1100 yards and 8-9 TDs

He was until the hamstring.

The kid really toughed it out because the team was down their two veteran receivers, and that might cost him ROY.

Who comes back the next week after missing practice with a hammy?

GOOGLE AI

Emeka Egbuka's main recent issue was a hamstring injury suffered in Week 6 (October 2025) against the 49ers, causing him to miss time, though he returned to play in Week 7 after evaluation, playing through lingering discomfort. More recently, in mid-November 2025 (Week 12 prep), he dealt with a non-serious illness (flu-like symptoms), which limited practice but didn't sideline him for the game. He has also battled nagging hamstring issues post-injury.
