TreVeyon Henderson Named Offensive Rookie Of the Month For November

The talent is there and you see the damage he can do when the team sustains blocks. He's been nerfed this season. Once the blocking improves along the OL and perimeter, he's going to be a regular highlight reel.

Well, I'm usually the a big optimist on this board, so it might surprise some people that I am going to lead the, "slow your roll" charge on Henderson. It's not that I don't believe that he has Cooke, or Gibbs POTENTIAL. But it is just that I believe that he is far from BEING that guy now. At this point his blocking has improved that he is no longer a liability out there (he was always willing) and he runs explosively and hard at the pre-directed hole. He is only just now STARTING to show an inkling of the ability to run to empty areas not pre-planned For some RB's it comes naturally. For others like Henderson it is a learned behavior and he HASN'T learned it yet. And it is not a skill that suddenly just appears overnight either.

As the run blocking improves and his VISION grows he might actually grow into something special. He EARNED his rookie of the month award with his 5 TDs and yardage not doubt. It is a credit to himself and his coaches. He has come a LONG way from what he was in September, but still has a long way to go before he can actually justify those comparisons to Gibbs and Cooke.

Henderson isn’t a runner that should rely on hesitation
and reversing the field.
His style is north and south and quick moves while staying N/S.
He makes people miss in a phone booth, he doesn’t need to run to areas not pre planned. In my opinion.
His strength is burrsting through traffic rather than running around it.

He came into the league with the label as the most NFL ready pass blocking RB maybe ever. People overreacted to one bad play and a holding call and don’t realize other than that he has been outstanding.

Sure he has more developing to do, but the comparisons are only optimistic because he hasn’t done it long enough, not because he hasn’t done it well enough.

Is he creeping up to oroy? Or is embuka too far ahead

Is Henderson the sexiest rookie ever ? No. The greatest rookie ever ? Also no. Does he hold the key to a championship ? Unlikely.

That said, I’m glad he’s with NE and I hope he keeps producing for this squad.

Id assume it will matter how many yards from scrimmage he manages. Hes on pace for 1100 yards. If he continues his recent trend he could finish closer to 1300. Keep the TDs coming and hes got a chance.

Wow, did not expect this but am very happy for him . He has been a solid contributor every week and made the most of his opportunity

I think he is sexy.

Who could have imagined we’d be posting things like this a year ago?

We’ve come an incredibly long way in one year.

Almost feels like a dream.
Exactly ... every draft pick and free agent signing working out. Year 2 jump for QB. Massive coaching stuff upgrade. very likeable team overall. Pinch me!

Was curious to see how he stacks up with the odds on favorites for OROY. Comparing based on stat projections for scrimmage yards and TDs for the season.

Tetairoa McMillan: 1080 yards, 8 TDs
Jaxson Dart: 2507 yards, 24 TDs
Emeka Egbuka: 1121 yards, 9 TDs
Ty Warren: 976 yards, 7 TDs
Treyveon Henderson: 1077 yards, 8 TDs

With Trey trending up, he could end up winning.

I remember many here saying Tetairoa McMillan would be a Bust where are they now. Look at what he's doing with Bryce Young.

If the Pats wouldve thought he was the best option, I wouldve been down. Hes huge and would probably help our nonexistent red zone offense.

I really like Henderson. He’s really shown that he can be a dangerous weapon in the NFL, exactly the reason why I was happy they drafted him.

As the Oline improves, he will become even more dangerous. He’s shown that breakaway speed running the ball, and good hands catching the ball, he’s been decent in pass protection, but not as good as when he was in college, he’s made some big mistakes in the pass blocking game, but he’s getting there.

He’s a good person to boot, you can tell his teammates love him already. Hard working player. So glad he’s a Patriot.

You won’t find ME in those comments. I loved McMillan coming out of college. I was fine with him or Ty Warren at 4, if the Pats didn’t believe in Campbell. Glad it worked out the way it did though, I really like Campbell.

I don’t think he comes close to winning OROY, too many good candidates having stellar seasons.
