If we can keep the guys up front fresh, teams are going to struggle against us. Up the middle up the middle...
"Where you going boy, not up here, uh uh..."
Exactly correct!!! Having a nice rotation on the DL will do wonders to get guys fresh especially late in games. I'd like us to sign wilkins...

On hype about Wilson - it's one thing to be potentially ready physically to compete at this level, but a whole other thing once real games start and the amount of mental weight it takes to know all the protections, audibles, communication, etc... that's hard for a 1-year starter in college to do as a rookie in the NFL. I think he'll see some backup action at C/G the first half of the season, and then who knows. But future looks bright for sure.

It is hype!

The pads aren't even on.

Remember in the glory years: BB could turn a former Bust on Defense like K Chaisson around. You have to believe BB Jr Vrabel can do the same with his guy DC Terrell Williams.
Somewhat similar situation with Vrabel (except draft position) coming to the Patriots as a player. Similar weight/height, age, production...

Let’s please keep him a Patriot.
I don’t want to have another Ty Law situation where I have to watch one of my all time favorite players wear a Jets Jersey.
We have 60 plus million in cap space left among the top teams in the league.. if, in wich I fully expect gonzo too...is continuing his all pro ways i can see Vrabel doing something by the end of the season to lock gonzo up. Yes the ty law situation was tough, ty was awesome but I believe BB likely felt a younger assante Samuel would be worth the risk at the time. Ty still had some great post patriots years.

Not sure about Wilkins, although he made enough $ last year in his 5 games... maybe at a discount

I'm getting Kevin Mawae vibes from Jared Wilson. Mawae was athletic but Wilson may even be a better athlete. Let the hitting begin on Monday and hope he's a keeper for long time.

This dude is an embarrassment. The fact that the people in charge of drafting him (Wolf/Groh) are both still employed is unreal to me.
Over his last two years at UW he had 15 TDs and averaged 17 yards a catch, and I don't think you can consider him a major reach. It wasn't a bad pick on its face (even setting aside the McConkey issue), just one that failed, much like Ras-I Dowling was a good pick who just couldn't stay healthy.

And as I've noted before, every team blows one of its first three picks almost every single year.

I agree that a team could trade for him based on talent. I’m sure there where plenty of teams that had a 2nd rd grade on him, and early rd picks always get a longer leash, and you are correct, always a GM or coach that think their tutelage will unlock his potential . I was more talking about the financial piece. Right now he’s worth league minimum at best. If Chism continues to impress, I would trade Polk for a jug of Gatorade.
Even if teams had a 4th or 5th round grade on him, ONE team might be willing to send us a 5th or 6th or 7th, even if they expect him to be on the bench all year.

If his foot is healthy, and his attitude is where it should be.
His foot isn’t healthy, that’s the rub. But… if u could sign him on the cheap, even if he had to miss 8 games it’s worth a long hard look. He’s a very good player.

I had him as a target in the draft but I was sure Eagles were going to grab him.

thats the crazy part... he's been injured since week 5 of last year... its like wtf man???

Yes, but unless there are a lot of sharp reversals this season, you could say that Wolf and Groh managed to blow six (or, to take your view that Milton was also a mistake, seven) of their eight picks. Kick in that they wasted $7m on Brissett, signed Okorafor as their putative left tackle, and brought in Alex van Pelt (Wolf's buddy) as OC, then the fact that they still have jobs shows that they must have pretty amazing "organizational skills".
