Trading For A WR: Who is worth a 3rd and $20M a year?

AJ Brown
Christian Watson
Drake London
I want to see a Drake-Drake connection

But I also kind of wanted to see a Kendrick-Drake beef and nothing came of that... maybe if Lamar Jackson got paired with Drake London?

well then disagree to your hearts content. You are wrong on every level, but eh, thats on you. He's not a just "slot" receiver. Kupp can line up anywhere. And be productive.

People got to get over this "slot" thing... and so what if he is "just a slot receiver" ... He's better than anyone we have on the roster... in fact, based on Kupps production as a 2 - in limited games, hes still better than Douglas + Boutte + Bourne ... If you can't find a place for Kupp on your team, you aren't trying
to add to this... McDaniels is back, and so is the E/P offense most likely... One of the hallmarks of that offensive system is flexibility... It does not matter where a guy lines up... they can in in the slot... that can be on the outside... wherever the play needs them... Versatility is key. Don't want a guy stuck in one spot on every play. Makes it too easy for the defense.
You might find this interesting that Kupp himself tells Edelman he’s better in the slot rather than lining up outside and going vertical. With that said, would he come to NE given his age and the state of the team? I don’t think he’s going to get big money, so I see him targeting a contender first.

I want the Pats to draft Cooper Mays for their future Center. So we'd have Maye under Mays C lol

He's a great slot receiver. But he is much more than that. He'd be the best receiver in the WR room at Gillette IF he comes here... (thats a big IF, get it? lol) ... I get him targeting a contender. He will probably go to one. Its a smart play for him...

But, at the very least, you have to try, you have to make the pitch.

I would trade for these WR's, giving for the top tier - our #36 pick and Polk:
Nico Collings, AJ Brown
Or give our 3rd or 4th rounder + Polk:
Drake London, Jauan Jennings

Hes going to the Bills,
He’s on social media wearing a bill cap.
He’d rot in Buffalo. They don’t have outside threats.

If the QB was stabilized in Miami, Cupp would fit in great as Jonnu Smith did with teams focusing on Hill and Waddle.

GB is another team he’d in fit well with.

SF would be my top team for him.

rams will never trade him to the niners.

That's what I was curious about. I was wondering if Brown wanted out and the Eagles wanted to uri

From a Niners standpoint Post June 1 would be 'doable' for this year but a disaster for next year when they've got some very expensive re-signings to deal with. It would seem that some creative restructuring would have to be done involving Deebo, the Niners and a highly motivated acquiring team willing to take on a sizable portion of the hit. The question is, does another team believe there's enough in Deebo's tank to make it worth it AND is it a team Deebo wants to play for?

NGL Deebo was my very last draft binky. When he was still there at 32 I was pumped, when they passed him up I promised myself 'Never again.' That said, at only 29 he's taken a beating physically, his numbers are heading the wrong way (yes some of that's the emergence of Aiyuk) but I'm not sure he's still got it in him to be 'The Guy' although he's certainly a hella complimentary piece. But for how much and how long...

The Niners are looking to shed dollars not spend them. OTOH if Kupp would like to put it to the Rams for dumping him vs hittin' a payday then SF would certainly give him an opportunity to do just that

The explanation I saw from a 49ers fan months ago is that Deebo has never taken care of his body, so there’s more of a cumulative effect from these injuries even though he’s not what would normally be considered old. A trade for him is basically a bet that he commits himself more rather than just living off talent alone like he has for his entire life. The 49ers don’t seem willing to take that bet, so I’m not sure I would want to either.

A cheap prove it deal to me he’s more like a Laviska Sheanult or Cordarelle Patterson at this point,

Not a fan of going after Pickens. He’s a completely immature mental case, has effort issues on plays where he’s not being targeted, is entirely a 50/50 guy since he doesn’t get separation or run clean routes, is good for some boneheaded penalties because of aforementioned immaturity, and to top it off he’s due a new contract as an impending free agent after the 2025 season. He’s not the kind of player a no-nonsense coach like Vrabel would be targeting. The Steelers are trying to get rid of Pickens, let’s not be the ones to help them out by rewarding them with better draft picks. Let him be someone else’s headache.

But the Patriots could get him for only 3 first round picks. And he’s Randy Moss and Jerry Rice combined.

Because a receiver like Pickens would be Moss like in this offense.
I don’t think Hunter is a talented as Pickens, plus you’d have the Steelers first rounder to address O like in this hypothetical trade.
He would be Moss the his 4.5 speed?

They used him way too much as a RB before they got CM. They added about 3 to 4 years of physical beating on him in doing so. I would not trade for him, even at a minimal cost. I'd rather give a youngster those reps. Which presupposes that we do increase our WR talent with one young FA WR and absolutely do so in the draft.

If you’re getting a receiver who will be 30+ you’re not picking up a guy to win a championship with, you’re hoping to help the maturation process of what you hope is a franchise QB.

I’m happy with a guy like Kupp or Deebo for that.

If you get a guy like AJ Brown you’re investing in the team now. And think in the next couple years you can put together a legit contender

Pickens isn’t Moss, but he’s been incredibly productive for a guy who’s had borderline practice squad guys throwing to him for theee seasons

And paying through the ass both in terms of the pick and payday. The players they can get at 4 are going to be really good players.

You mean you THINK/HOPE they are going to be very good players and that's the point i made. I'm not saying to trade 4 but that's the reason why you would and is the answer to the question you originally asked.
