Trade week

I am not saying I am for it as I am very happy with our RB group. Just pointing out that if the return is good enough (first round+) you can recoup the investment into him, let his chronic knees be someones else's problem and still have a good ground game with Harris, White and Burkhead.

That leaves you with more high picks for the future which will have 5 additional years of cost control. The value could be there depending on how desperate the Texans are. Just playing devil's advocate here.
“His Chronic knees” are an urban legend.

Stidham has more raw talent but Hoyer knows the playbook inside and out. I would honestly be fine with 3 QBs but having that extra roster spot AND an extra 6th round pick would be nice. I dont think it would be an absolute disaster if Stidham had to play a down or two but I dont see that happening. Hoyer is not the future and you cannot rely on him to win games, with that being said, There is alot of unknowns with Stidham. You never know and anything could happen but Brady has been pretty good at avoiding major injuries. Plus we still have a decent O line.

Is the 53rd (inactive) man on the roster really more valuable than a backup QB in the NFL? My thinks not.

Why would we want Fells? He sucks.

Because Houston will almost certainly roll with Akins, Warring & Thomas, I would expect nothing less than either TE Jerell Adams - or OT Julien Davenport, if you prefer - AND a high Day 3 pick for Burkhead.

I actually don't want Fells, I'm not a fan either. I didn't mean to pump up Fells so much as to say that I suspect Burkhead's trade value is much lower than others seem to think.

Yeah am sure the two scopes right before camp in both of his first two years are a total coincidence.
That doesn’t prove chronic

For all you people hating on Da Burkmeister, go back and watch the AFCCG. He came up huge a few times during that game. He put us up in the closing minutes of the 4th & scored the winning TD in OT. He may not be Michel, but he always comes up big when we need him. Idk why JMD doesn’t utilize him more as a receiver. That’s one of his strengths. Stay healthy bro.

good 4th string RB. Not worth his contract for that position though.

Lmao at posters talk of a trade with Colts. It ain't happening.

Toss in the ACL tear in high school and another knee injury in college and it surely starts to look like a recurring issue he has had trouble shaking. Which is pretty much the definition of chronic.

It doesn't mean he isn't ready for this season, though--he looks great.

I’m talking about the comments like his knee is bone on bone (which would have him out of the league) or that he has inherent knee issues that will keep occurring.
Running backs get knee injuries. A hs acl and some lesser issues since are chronic to me.
But perhaps we are devolving into semantics.

You go with your gut feeling. I go with the medical info that some plugged in people had before the draft and "coincidentally" so far resulted in knee scopes for "clean up" right before each season.

Occam's razor. As Lombardi said.. it is not a rookie deal issue but a second contract issue. But that doesn't mean it is not chronic and something to keep in mind.

Well we really have 2 RB positions, the base offense RB and the passing game rb.
Burkhead can back up both of those very well.
We need at least 3 on game day and worst case burkhead is one injury away from an important role and he would fill the role if any of the other 3 effectively.

But just the fact that you are “going with your gut” about the medical condition of a player kinda proves my point.
You don’t know and you are basing your belief on conjecture.

We can list a lot of names that played important roles in playoffs and super bowls that were a surprise trade shortly after. I hear ya man...it's a numbers thing. In Bill we trust.

Not sure why BB keeps on bringing in RBs unless Harris injury is serious. Seems like team has plenty of depth in that position.

Or Burkhead. He has a knack for injuring others though...so theirs that

Need some bodies for fourth preseason game.

If BB is giving veterans like Inman and M. Harris the courtesy of a week or so to find another team, why wouldn't he do the same for Hoyer? I think Hoyer stays.
