Hey pals & gals,

I know it's still pretty early, but with the trade deadline looming, any thoughts/ ideas as to how we will approach it this year?

What are our biggest needs as opposed to luxuries that we would like to see in a Pats uniform?

Not really feeling as much of a need for us to make a deadline trade this year YET. We're looking pretty good at most of our positions in terms of depth at the moment.

Of course, you never know who BB has his eye on though.

We're pretty well set but extra depth never hurts. A big DB to match up with tight ends or 6'3+ receivers? A fast RB to complement Blount? Doubtful we make any big moves though. Trade deadlines are pretty quiet in the NFL usually. It's not like baseball, hockey, etc. where a lot of trades are made.

I'm hoping Eric Rowe fills the former and Dion Lewis the latter. ?

I think that injuries will do the dictating if there's to be any trades. Even right now, we have guys who can't play and many others who can't play at anything like full capacity... and are thus only theoretically excellent players.

If someone has some time I think it might be interesting to check which "somewhat highly drafted" upcoming FA on rookie contracts are on the way out with their respective teams. Seems to be a pattern with us the last couple of years..

If the Browns are going to going to go for a total tear down then they might be interested in getting another pick for Joe Thomas. More picks help them over the long term and by the time the Browns might be good again Thomas will be several years older.

Joe Thomas was almost traded to the Broncos last season. The Browns should have taken the two picks they could have got from Denver. Look at the Browns this season, they still haven't won a game and it is another lost season for the Browns and for Thomas.

I know we would all like to see Thomas at OT protecting Brady.

Don't want to crush your hopes but ..

Solder, Cannon and Fleming are doing a good job so far.

I guess folks have forgotten about Lewis? Or is it that you guys are taking a wait and see approach as far as his comeback?

IT will be interesting to see if Dallas moves Tony Romo as that can effect the NFL landscape.

Honestly getting Lewis and Jackson back would be great. Vollmer would be golden.

Most certainly!
