Top flight return man is on the market

Would have posted this myself.

Don't want him at all.

Patriots fans on Twitter seem to be in a lather about him.

a) We've got our Return Guy in Brandon Tate.

b) I'd rather put Aiken, Slater or Stanback out there over Ginn.

And the biggest reason:

No shot that Parcells or the Dolphins trade us a Receiver.

What have Tate, Aiken, Slater (the guy who runs straight as fast as he can into a tackler), or Stanback done that makes you so confident.

I think the price might be too high for Ginn, but he's a better return man than any of those four, at least until proven otherwise.

I wonder if he can be gotten for less than a top 10 pick, though....
Definitely... top ten of the 5th round. Maybe 4th. Though unlikely in the division.

Let's trade them AD for Ginn.

He might be useful, but I wouldn't give much up for him.

Has Belichick *ever* picked up Parcells' trash?

Don't give me a defender who can't tackle, and don't give me a receiver who can't catch.

But in answer to the question, probably a 5th round pick. Yes, I know that's the same as the Steelers got for Holmes, but there's no character concerns here.

Tate is the all time NCAA combined kick returner. Slater was second only to Tate in kick return average last year with 24.5 yards per return. Tate had 26.5 yards per return in his four returns.

What have they done? Shown they can return kicks. And are already on the roster. And don't play for a rival in the division.

If they were desperate enough to trade for him, it won't be higher than the Patriots' own 6th round pick and possibly a player.

that'd be a little tough, then.

Not unless they throw in his family.

Bobby Hamilton. Worked out really well actually.
Hadn't thought of him. But I just refreshed my memory, and he was a UFA when the Pats picked him up, not a cut or a trade (hence not "trash"). And Belichick had coached him the previous season so he was arguably at that moment more of a Belichick guy than a Parcells guy.

Aiken, Slater and Stanback i'd rather have out there as Receivers than Ginn.

They may not get open as quick, but Slater has had one pass thrown at him in games and he caught it. Thanks to an OL penalty it meant nothing, but it was a bullet pass and he caught it firmly.

Aiken catches most that go to him. He just has crap reception numbers and inflated yards from his 2 big catches.

Stanback done a bit at Dallas and has other roles to play.

Ginn can get himself open deep or coming across the field. He'll also drop 2 out of 3 balls. And if there is a sure way to piss Tom off, it's getting him another WR that can't catch. Yes, i'm looking at you Galloway, Caldwell etc.

And no, I don't want any of the 3 above being any more than 4th WR before I get sarcastic results. And when Wes is back, Aiken can be the 5th.

We need a WR, but we don't need Ginn.

I think Otis Smith and Roman Phifer were also a Parcells leftovers.

add in Jermaine Wiggins, Anthony Pleasant, Fred Coleman, Bryan Cox just from the '01 team

Yeah but like alamo said, has Parcells *ever* picked up Parcells' trash?
