Stealing this from BSPN, they're doing a top ten at each position. Asking 50 people - players, coaches, executives and more (whoever more is) to vote and come up with a list.

I won't link their stuff, so we can do our own. I'm basically judging this off the last two years, going into this year.

This thread is jumpin'

Is the gap between Aaron Donald and the 2nd best IDL the biggest in the league?

Was there ever a gap so big (on the football field! @KontradictioN )

You guys like football?
1. I mostly don’t have an issue with the QBs. Even though he choked like a dog in the playoffs last year, I’d put Allen over Dak. Herbert should be higher and Mayfield probably deserves to be mentioned.

2. WR: Hopkins, Hill, Adams, Jones should be the top 4. I’d slot Jefferson over Thomas as Thomas is a one-trick pony with a more limited route tree. Jefferson has the higher ceiling.

3. The corner group looks about right. No argument there.

4. RB should be Chubb, Henry, Caff (if healthy), Cook.

I’ll go through the rest later when I have a bit more time.

Is DMac not elite anymore? That's a good faith question to which I don't have a preconceived answer.

What about McCaffery at RB? OK if he isn't top 5 because of injuries, but he should be mentioned, no?

EDIT: I see "Caff" now, LOL...my bad.

Nope, I still think he's very good but I can't put him above any of those guys. Maybe 8-12 range depending on preference.

Bates is extremely underrated imo. Arguably the best single high in game. He's a fun watch. Him, Maye & John Johnson are all really underrated imo.

Marcus Williams as well. He got dogged on in Minnesota Miracle but was really good up until then and better since.

I was conservative with the one year guys/newer players on purpose. I'm a Dak fan, another year like that from Allen and I could see it. I get it, I didn't think Allen was that bad his first two years when people were ragging on him. Considering his situation and starting point but his play last year was borderline top tier. Another one like that and he's a top 5-8 QB.

Herbert is a new guy so put him on the cusp. Like Allen, another year like that and he's got a top 10-12 argument.

Mayfield has been so up & down. Legit two different QB's last year and at times. Believe it or not but Jackson has the best deep passing #'s in that division, to give you an idea of what's going on there. Baker was just awful in the first half of the year last season and got hot the 2nd half. That's still a new offense I suppose all things considered but he's been so inconsistent.

I think the WR tier1 is almost interchangeable top ten. Same for the top 4-5 RB's. Very little separating them imo.

Chubb, Henry or Cook have a case imo. Cafe is in the worst spot but so talented.

I loved him in college. One of my all-time favorites. He's such a good player. Incredible work ethic. Hopefully they get the QB situation figured out.

Thanks. I didn't see it either!

Is it arguable that Gilmore is better than Ramsey or is that my homerism? I've been under the impression that he's the best and that most people thought hat, but I've never actually put much thought into it.

The top 10 is good, though I don’t know about Tannehill there. Despite all his age-related flaws and injuries, I think Roethlisberger would give the Titans a better chance to win a championship than Tannehill, who still hasn’t shown he can succeed without the league‘s best running game.

Dak is probably the most polarizing at #6, though that’s around where I rank him too. It’s just on the optimistic side because 6 is close to his ceiling.

Since the Pats truly do RBBC, you won't see Harris there. Doesn't mean he doesn't belong.

And I think Judon is a top-10 DE/Edge.

He is, it's just the age factor, JR is probably more versatile - better in zone. Few things push him CB1 for me but it's not crazy at all to have Gilly CB1. Past fee years he's been unbelievably locked in.

Big disagreement on Ben. I think RT is clearly the better QB rn. Ben's body and arm are done imo.

I definitely like Dak more than most here. If healthy and that OL isn't trash I think he's a low-key MVP candidate.

I think the bottom 5-7 is pretty subjective. No reason he can't run for 1200/8 and make a move on that list.

Judon is a tough, tough sell top ten imo. Maybe Barrett and he sneaks in late but again it's a tough sell.

I even forgot to put down Burns who should definitely be on here. He's a freak. Top 15 I can see but that position is loaded rn. So many great players.

I think he’s overrated. He’s had plenty of talent since being the starter and he has 2 playoff appearances in 5 years with only 1 win. He was massively overpaid.

Good thread btw.

We need to see how he does without all that talent he benefited from in Baltimore. Other players commanded more attention before him. He’s a solid player though.

Talk about an under the radar player.

If he stays healthy, there’s no reason to think he couldn't match Stevan Ridley’s 1200 yard 12 TD performance in 2012.

If I didn't forget I'd bump Von for Burns. He could be special, that DL should be fun.

Agree no reason to think he can't hit 70-80 for 14-16 games and punch in 10 TD behind this line.

Nick Bosa on your list is my guy to watch. It’s a shame he was injured because he took that 9ers D to another level in his rookie year. I watched every game of his and he was an absolute terror. He created opportunities for others to join the party. He reminds me of what Jevon Kearse did to for the Titans defense in 1999. That’s the kind of guy I want for this D line.

He put their d line on a new level. Mayfield still has nightmares from him

I would say he does everything well like pass rush run defense coverage but he isn’t an elite pass rusher. Some are saying he did favoured from the blitz heavy ravens defense and had some unblocked sacks I don’t know as I do not watch them enough

Curious about Devin White @BaconGrundleCandy
Is he not on the list or am I too blind to see it?
