Well he had a really long leash on Mangini too.

It's not as if McDaniels is a bad coach, he is an above average one, so I don't see how Belichick will just go in and completely take over like he did when Mangini was clearly being a terrible coordinator.

Just a heads up. I am pretty sure he/she was talking about antogonizing and insulting others not just calling McDaniels by his real name. It isn't censorship, it trying to keep civility on this board.

Biggles I never said McDaniels was rogue. He calls the way he always calls them, in that he identifies the weaknesses he wants to attack going into every game, and basically calls the same 5-10 plays over and over and over regardless of how well the defense is adjusting to it.

The usually good game plans he goes into games with were worked out with Belichick beforehand, but while in-game, whatever plays he wants to call are his decision.

The only time I've ever seen Belichick take a coordinator's autonomy away was when Mangini was clearly sucking it up as a coordinator for over 10 games.

McDaniels doesn't have that problem because he is working with elite talent at every offensive position so even if he calls a crappy game, he gets bailed out a lot by the sheer talent of Welker, Moss, Faulk, etc. McDaniels' stats look good, so it's pretty much impossible for Bill to come in and take his autonomy away.

I will if you don't post the same threads over and over and hijack threads to turn them into McDaniels bashing. I have no problems with people complaining about McDaniels play calling. I have problem with multiple threads being started just to bash McDaniels and people hijacking threads about other topics to make it a McDaniels bashing thread.

I bet if you go back, the personal attacks start with you far more than you will admit.

It's a good point you just raised, if you get so worked up whenever someone criticizes McDaniels, why don't you just use the 'ignore' list to block out any McDaniels criticism?

I have used the ignore list for other posters who used to annoy me, and it works wonders and will probably improve your experience on the site.
