Tom Brady to be a DADDY!

I can't believe all of this moralizing. WHO ARE WE TO CAST THE FIRST STONE? How many of us could have (or actually did) father a child in our impetuous, unmarried youth? If Tom is in fact the father, all it proves is that he's human (shock!). And if so, I'd be surprised if he wasn't a loving and responsible dad, and I wish him and the mother and child the very best in the future. And the only way I see this adversely effecting him in the field is if he let the witch hunters get to him. He's handled tougher pressure than this from a Jason Taylor pass rush!

he sold himself as mr. all american boy. this is a huge blow to the image he and his PR people worked so hard to build and the patriots tried to exploit. i'm sure he'd trade pregnant bridget for a dozen taylor sacks and a 3-bagger by aaron schoebel right about now.

On a more serious note, to all those who question Moynihan's publicist announcing this, in all likelihood at 3 mos. pregnant she was beginning to show and there might have even been those who were suspicious

While one would think that a joint statement with Brady would have been in order it may well be that there are issues between them that prevent a cooperative statement.

Seems to me that a couple who is "divorced" before even being married and bringing a child into the equation is quite sad regardless of celebrity status.

Tom never sold himself as anything other than who and what he is. In fact he has at times bristled at the way the media has chosen to spin him as a perfect goody two shoes. He remains an all american boy to all but those who have no rational grasp of just what that character has evolved into in this millenium. It's 2007, not 1957.

Well said, Mo.

if I had a friend in the same situation, I'd be circumspect about it. But celebrities are a little different.[/QUOTE]

I've been thinking like most have, but I have not seen it brought up. Many of us have known of the situation where a relationship ends, where the female didn't want it to end, and all of a sudden she claims she pregnant. Happened to my cousin who rasied a child for ten years before he found out it wasn't his.
From all I've taken in, it seems Bridget was on the family path, before the break-up. Now in this day and age where Astronauts wear diapers to kill romantic rivals, I think I wait a while longer for the story to continue, before drawing any conclusions, including the father of the child.

But a Child is a blessing in any circumstance, reguardless of it parents

If a guy espcecially a celebrity, wants to make sure a woman does not get pregnant, it is his responsibility to practice birth control...Condoms and abstinence are your two choices here.

It is actually none of my business that Bridget is pregnant and Tom is the father. I just hate when people blame woman for "trapping" men. If a guy doesn't want some woman to get pregnant he can use a condom or keep it in his pants. The guy bears equal responsible for the pregnancy.

Nevertherless, it's been known to happen. They dated for 3 years. She turns up preggers only at the very end. The timing is at the very least, interesting.

Boy:Alfonso (Like me)

Girl:Ainara ......

At least for most people, there's nothing that compares to being a parent. For most, even through all the chaos, looking into a baby's eyes and seeing that baby progress through adulthood is an experience that cannot be duplicated elsewhere. It is truly one of life's blessings.

LMAO...as I suspected, you can't give me ONE specific reason, just a meaningless statement - the "experience that cannot be duplicated" and "transcendenc". Chopping off one's leg is also an "experience that cannot be duplicated" but it's not what I would call a "blessing". Anyway, enough of this topic - just thought I would try to get a specific answer from someone.

How many "Christians" really have never had pre-matial sex....I'd guess 10% tops......

These high paid celebs should just freeze a bunch of sperm and then have a vasectomy...that way there will be no accidents and if they want to have a baby they can thaw out a couple swimmers and get out the turkey baster....

Dear PF1996:

As far as I'm concerned, when weighing opinions, it's not the number of posts that matter (see: NEM), but the general regards the forum has for the poster (see: patfanken).

And when you make statements like this one:

It's unlikely most of this board is going to hold you in high esteem.

(1) Exposed? Exposed as what? Human? And how exactly does that change his on-field performance?
(2) Upgrade? If you could name one quarterback that could honestly be seen as a viable "upgrade" over Brady, especially when you factor in the $18M in dead money that would hit the cap, that might help.

So, you judge someone's opinion on the basis of what a majority thinks of the poster? LMAO...how old are you - 5? I ask because that's definitely the type of immature attitude I would expect from a five year old. You can use whatever basis you like to "weigh" my opinion - it's all really irrelevant to me.

I don't care what "esteem" anyone on this board "holds" me. I'm curious to know why you seem to think that I SHOULD care? Seriously, this is something that I find really weird. Are you that much of a social hermit that you desire approval from people on a messageboard? And believe that others should as well? Very strange....

I find it ironic that when someone acts irresponsibly, that some see it as a sign of "being human". I strongly suspect it's because those who have this perception also act irresponsibly and want to be able to excuse their actions as being beyond their control.

I didn't say that Brady's irresponsibleness has changed his on-field performance. A lot of you apparently cannot read very well. I said that now that Brady is no longer the "goldenboy", it will be easier for Belichick to deal with him if his on field performance continues to decline. Please note the words 'if' and 'continues'. Perhaps you were satisfied with Brady's inaccuate throws and poor decisions of the 2006 season but, as a Patriots fan, I was not. If his poor performance from 2006 carries over into 2007, Belichick will be able to more easily make changes if possible. Of course if Cassel isn't ready or another QB isn't readily available, then we might have to stick with Brady. However, if there were other options available, then this situation allows Belichick to more easily make that move (i.e take less public criticism)

Show me the proof. You're all talk, no hat.

Of course I demonstrated it. I linked to a site which showed there was no sch prohibition. Man, you can't read.

You really should take some reading/comprehension lessons. I've copied the content of my last response to you, which you quite obviously didn't understand. It's bolded so that you can easily find it. Please read it again, carefully, and if you still don't comprehend it, ask an adult for help. I really can't make the statements any more basic - sorry. Get back to me once you have found someone to help you break it down to a level you can understand. Good luck.

But you don't have any. You're just blowing smoke.

You really do need help reading. Find me the post/quote where I "claimed" that "Jews and Hindus are much better at sticking to dogmas of pre-marital sex" and I'll provide you proof of what I ACTUALLY said, which was "individuals from others religions adhere to the principles of their faith in far greater numbers than do Christians". So, I'll wait for your answer - shouldn't take too long, since I WROTE IT, right...

P.S. - By the way, although I didn't say anything about Jews/Hindus and premarital sex, you certainly haven't demonstrated at all that such a claim would be false.

One of your problems is that you continue to engage in circular reasoning, which is a rather frustrating method of having any discussion.

Posting an opinion on a message board is not entering a pissing contest, but posting the way you have done--accusing posters of immaturity, making rather broad, bold, and bizarre statements, and making sweeping generalizations about players' personal lives (which we really don't know about) and about their crappy performance (while eschewing stats and going merely on personal opinion, as you did in the Brady-as-mediocre-QB discussion) while dismissing others' opinions as irrelevant-- is exactly that.

And you have already said you would prefer Bulger--that is, by definition, a preference for Bulger. You said that Brady was a major problem in 2005 and in 2006 (calling Brady and Watson the worst players on the team this year)--two years is indeed plural. That is factual information.

The majority of posters on this board are Brady fans. He has been a winning quarterback, a championship quarterback, and a team leader. Those same posters you have reviled are probably waiting to see what he does in this situation before rushing to judgement, before choosing to pillory him for something which is really neither shocking, nor offensive, nor cruel. The fans are preferring to be positive, and enthusiastic.
The man and woman involved are two very wealthy, very famous adults, not kids in a trailer park. She doesn't need any pity, and it's highly unlikely that he deserves any scorn.

I'm surprised by that survey - not because I believe in the "blessings of parenthood" but because people are socialised to claim the "blessings of parenthood" even if they do not believe in it.

Why should anyone give you a specific reason why parenthood is a blessing? So you can smugly assert that the millions of parents in the world have simply deluded themselves into believing they love their children? Here's some advice, loser: don't procreate if your tiny mind can't grasp the concept that parenthood might be worth it in ways that one can't adequately describe. You'd be doing the world a huge favor.

I haven't read all 5 pages of this thread, but...

Can somebody please tell me how we got from an NFL quarterback fathering the child of an actress to the pre-marital traditions of Jews and Hindus?
