Tom Brady: an honest take

This makes no sense. Three super bowl appearances and two rings. WTF is wrong with you?

That was a great decision and one that most franchises wished they could make.

We've had 3 SBs and two rings since we traded Jimmy G in 2017?

It was a tough decision. Whether it was a great decision remains to be seen. If JG wins 3 super bowls for SF, for example, and Brady wins no more for NE, then NE may regret making the deal. After all, 8 super bowls (5 for Brady, 3 for Jimmy G) is better than 6 for Brady -for the franchise. However, if JG wins only 1 Super Bowl for the rest of his career, then Bill made the right decision. Really, this issue won't be settled until 10 years from now.

Guys come on, drop the Jimmy G stuff...

We literally went to two Super Bowls and won one since his departure.

Getting mad over that because you're pissed we have to play a WC game is dumb.

Now if you want to argue about the return for Jimmy G, I’m all ears...

It wasn't a bad year. My point is he is in obvious decline and if he was 35 years old, I wouldn't be as worried. He will be 43. His decline, if he's allowed another year with the Pats, will be accelerated greatly due to his age.
Maybe. Maybe not. There is no way you can say with any absolute certainty at 43 his play will deteriorate at an accelerated pace.

One year at a time

They would have won last year with JG & everyone knows it. They'd have HFA with him this year & everyone knows it. They would be in a better position going forward with JG & everyone knows it. Watch the games. Open your eyes & any impartial person would see that 2019 Jimmy is 10X the player 2019 TB 12 is.

This is 100% on Bob Kraft. Let us all hope he goes back to the Orchids of Asia & stops interfering with BB.

You dont know this. You dont know if his tennis elbow wouldnt have been just as bad if he was 32 this year. You dont know

He has a problem with his throwing arm. Is it the dreaded CLIFF or is it something that can be fixed with surgery?

IDK. Smart money would say CLIFF because you can't win a fight against time you can only delay it. But in a battle between Time and Tom Brady my heart wants to bet on Tom Brady and that he will be back next year and look better than this year.

But ultimately its just a matter of time before he's gone, only question is if it is Stidham who takes over or if it is someone else further down the road.

So you are saying they should have unloaded Tom after the 2016 season?

So if jimmy g turns out to be a top 5 qb of all time it was a bad decision? Lol. Aaron Rodgers, drew Brees, Russell Wilson and Big Ben don’t have three. Neither does Peyton. I’ll take my chances.

No. Since your pseudo God got injured during Brady's suspension. Remember?

Jesus.

Not assuming there is a quick solution to replacing TB. Being realistic that it may be necessary to have 2-3 years of sub 8-8 play in order to get back to the point where this team can legitimately challenge for more SB's
I am accepting the reality of the situation. TB's QBR has decreased for 5 straight years. He has not had elbow injuries in all those years. The slope is going downward consistently for him. To ignore a trend like that and pretend that as a 43 year old he can perform like a superhuman because he drinks 800 gallons of water a day gets massages, does Pilates and avoids strawberries does not make sense.

I already addressed the QBR part with the reply earlier.

Pats fans may have a different opinion 10 years from now if we can't find a stud QB to replace Brady. Super Bowl #6 would be a distant memory by then...

The Jimmy decision was a no-brainer. When you have the GOAT, you ride him to the finish line. Just look at the results since the trade.

However, that doesn't mean Brady is immortal and will never get old.

Let me just ask this question. And it's a sincere question to try to get at your thought process. All you people that still say Brady is in his prime and everything that has gone wrong is the fault of an injury, or the OL, or the WRs... at what age are you expecting to see some slippage from Brady? 45? 50? 60? When do you think age will realistically have to be a factor here, and not just an injury or bad players around him?
