To all the "Kraft is cheap" "we need Vjax" "trade for Fitzgerald/Johnson" folks

Just assume. Its easier.

I'm not employed in sports media. I'm not going to spend my free time watching Tampa Bay games just so I can look more informed on a meaningless sports message board. We all have to make assumptions, short of watching 16 game tapes a week.

He would have been better in week 1 (Mankins was terrible in Miami in 2013, but he still would have helped in the second half). It is debatable in week 4, but the defense was so bad it wouldn't have mattered.

Fair enough.

If it is so meaningless, dont post anymore.

Also, are the intelligent posters here commenting on Mankins play employed in sports media?

Like everyone else here, I post & peruse for my own entertainment. I don't see many other folks here breaking down Mankins' play in TB, and if they did, I would read it. Until then, I'm free to post my assumptions based on what information I have until someone offers up further information.

If we couldn't post our assumptions, there would only be a couple posts here a week, and this would no longer be a message board.

He isn't doing well. Google a Tampa message board, I guarantee it won't take you long to find someone complaining about him.

OK, great. I am glad you get it now. You made an assumption and it was wrong.

Also, still dont see the connection between "breaking down" Mankins play and realizing that he is not playing well. Or more to the point of this topic, that he wasn't that great last year for the Pats anyway...In fact the Oline is BETTER now.

But maybe that is me just assuming...

Yes, oh well. Pardon me while I go kill myself.

The OL with the five guys it has is better than last year. I haven't said otherwise.

As for meaningless, I mean that in the sense that there are no repercussions for what anyone says on a message board. I don't think acknowledging that should deprive me of my right to post. Obviously if I were getting paid to analyze these things (like Reiss, Bedard, etc.) I would hold myself to a higher burden of proof.

But if I had, then I wouldn't have quickly gotten a post back from Oswlek that no, Mankins is not playing well down south. Which shows the utility of a message board, it has spared me from watching the Bucs play.

would have liked to upgrade wide out but not sure any of the available ones could learn our playbook in time to be worth the cap hit. that money will be very valuable this off season keeping dmac and revis. ill trust that BB feels the same way. wide outs are the hardest plug and play position aside from maybe quarterback.

When gronk came back last year and we had the number 1 offense everything was great until he got hurt. We are just way too reliant on one player.I can guarantee you if something happens to gronk we are done.
Honestly what is so hard to understand about not wanting to put all our eggs in one basket. Especially one we has dropped in previous seasons.
People who wanted Jackson don't want the loss of one player to take us from very good to horrific. The season is only midway.
You prepare for rainy days not start scrambling when it starts raining.

There are repercussions. You just dont value them.
Nobody brought up depriving your right to post. Big Time Strawman there.
Plenty of people here have a very high value of what they post, and they do it for free.

The irony is that BB is famous for being the ant, but those here with the "No trades!" are defending the idea of being the grasshoppers.

Meanwhile, while it wasn't bringing in a RB or WR, Belichick did play the part of the ant again, bringing in 2 linebackers to help that depleted group.

Look I'm not saying I'm going to post drivel on purpose, but I am going to post thoughts freely, and I don't think I've been unreasonable. I said something, someone corrected me, and we moved on with our lives.

You might have noticed that BB traded for another TE that can catch passes.

BB brought in players where the team was weakest. The Patriots needed reserve and pinch hitting starting quality LBs and DLs. He got them.

He did NOT add where there was surplus, and un-neccessary. He can't evn find room to activate Aaron Dobson, and he cut KT. Why add another receiver?

We need the absolute best receivers, like Denver. Boy did they light us up for making the mistake of spending on cornerbacks.

I will say for the 76th time. We dont need a deep threat to win the SB
Yet you saw LaFell beat the vaunted denver secondary deep e twice. The "so called deep threat" is a canard. Its a myth created by those myopic fans who still think the best way to evaluate offenses is to compare WR's.....and then REFUSE to believe what their eyes and the standings tell them.

All you need to do is trade away all your picks and push the cap hits to the future and you can have both! Let future you or whoever replaces you worry about the mess that creates! The cap is crap! Just look how well it worked for the Jets.

More awesomeness on offense would, of course, be even more awesome. But as for the "inexcusable" "lack of weapons"...

The Patriots have scored the most points of any team in the NFL.

I would add that that has not been done with great injury luck. Gronk was still dinged up at first. Two interior OL went down at once. Ridley is now gone. That's not outstandingly bad injury luck in such a violent game, but it's not outstandingly good luck either.
