I think you're underrating Mathews.

He's looked really good this season, and as Mayock mentioned in the telecast, his issues were durability and fumbling. He's seemingly erased doubts on both of those this season.

He's playing great tonight.

The difference between this game and the Titans/Chiefs/Skins game is Rivers can answer if Peyton turns his game on.

No Welker is making a huge difference, as Deus mentioned. The comeback isn't as certain as it would have been with him in there.
