He should have slid, that's on him.
Regarding his groin, he put pressure on it trying to stop when he was actually irrelevant to the play at that point. Granted he could have done that when trying to cut with the same result, it was already injured in camp and he simply reinjured it. It’d be nice to know how he injured it in the first place but the basic process is the same.
So even though a WR who slides is a still a live player and he could have gotten crushed even worse with two defenders diving on him, that is what he should do. You are advising him to to make himself completely defenseless and even more open to injuries? You do realize the slide rule is only for QBs?
It is funny that Amendola is now getting killed for stuff that Brandon Lloyd got killed for never doing and Welker got praised for doing all the time.
And the groin issue, I agree that Amendola should have just kept running until he crashed into the stands. What player actually stops when they are irrelevant to the play. You run until you hit a bench, cheerleader, or grandstand. That is how you run.
