Braxton Cave OC Notre Dame (Browns)

Chris Barker OG Nevada (Dolphins)

AJ Francis DT Maryland (Dolphins)

Cave and Francis are interesting names.

AJ Francis, according to PFF was the 6th best DT in pre-season and the best defensive player for the Dolphins. Also gives us Terrapin backups.

Those three give the Pats 8 undrafted rookies on their roster plus 7 draft picks. They still need to make one more cut, and even if that's a rookie, the roster will be about 26% rookies.

One pretty cool aspect of the Francis pickup is him and Vellano played side-by-side at Maryland, so they will be really comfortable working with each other. I really like the Francis pick, I do not know much about the other 2 players.

Braxton Cave was Notre Dame's center. Was fairly highly regarded for most of the draft season (mid-rounder) but didn't perform all that well at the Senior Bowl. He's not the most dominating lineman in the world but coming from that Notre Dame team isn't a bad pedigree.

Svitek, Cole, and Washington weren't at practice today. Svitek was limping in 4th game -- could be just resting, could be going on in-season IR. Not aware of injuries to Cole and Washington, so one of them could be outright cuts.

Seems like a solid signing by most accounts. Dolphins don't seem happy about it.

The adding of two O-Linemen means Josh Kline's cut will be in order shortly.

Thanks for the information, he sounds like a good pickup, he fits a need on the interior which is important. I had aspiration for the Matt Stankiewitch when he initially signed, but he didn’t really do too much in camp or preseason, so this kid hopefully will be a better fit.

I have to assume Kline will be shown the door once they’re sure Cave is the right fit for us.

Unless Connolly or Cannon reinjured themselves I would expect only 1 of the 3 OL (Kline, Cave, Barker) to remain on the roster, right now I think they’re doing some 1 day tryouts.

4 dedicated RBs and a FB, now thats more like it.

If Vereen were to get injured, would you rather Ridley be a 3 down RB pr make Bolden the 3rd down RB?
