Manning was carried to one championship, in a postseason in which he had 3 TDs and 7 INTs, compiling a far worse QB rating than either Trent Dilfer or Brad Johnson. It was the worst postseason by a Super winning QB this century.

He has some ground to make up, to say the least.

I don't see the Patriots losing but watching Manning fall to 1-3 in Super Bowls would be an OK consolation prize if it did happen. I would be rooting for another slaughter.

i disagree, brady's already the GOAT. even if manning wins a SB how can you put him ahead of brady/montana? makes no ****ing sense. he was terrible during both SB runs..

i just dont want tom losing three straight title games to manning. can't have that on the resume even though it's basically a home field thing..( thanks bill )

Not really. Brady is GOAT regardless. This game gives him a chance to start attempting to separate from the rest of the top 5 QBs.

For Manning it is likely his last SB chance but if he gets carried to victory here he will lose to Panthers/Cards most likely. If he wins 2 more it means something... winning this alone does little for him moving up the all time list IMO.

I disagree, if the Broncos win the Super Bowl I highly doubt it's because of Peyton. It'd be like when the Steelers won SB XL. Had little to do with Jerome Bettis. On the other hand, this game would bigtime ****ing suck to lose. Peyton would have a winning record vs Brady in the playoffs and we'd hear about it forever because it's highly unlikely they ever meet again. This is a huge MUST win.

sure brady would have the overall head to play but playoffs in far more important. we haven't defeated forehead in the playoffs in over a decade.

The Brady-Manning debate is over, finished, kaput, done....a fantasy only entertained by the delusional, the ignorant and the haters. Gary Myers, a New York based third party with no love for the Patriots, put an end to it in his book Brady vs. Manning. Brady is now not only being compared, but coming out on top in any historical comparison. Manning isn't in the discussion.

In fact, it's interesting that the two people who have done the most to burnish Brady's reputation and legacy in the last year have been based in New York...Judge Berman and Gary Myers. Still waiting for the CHB and MCI to say something that isn't petty, harping or redundant.

Montana is tied in rings and has absolutely no other argument in his favor.
Arguing that losing before getting to the SB is better than getting there and losing is flat out stupidity.

If he lost last years SB, he'd be 3-3 in Superbowls. Just barely ahead of Russel Wilson, Eli Manning, and Ben Rothlisberger. Closing in on Jim Kelly territory for SB losses. That wouldve been the story of Brady's career. 3 SB wins early on, and then 3 SB losses late in his career. We also never wouldve heard the end of "he can't win a Super Bowl with out deflated balls!"

Instead, he's 4-2 now and regarded as the GOAT by almost everyone. Brady himself said there was no game he wanted to win more than SB 49.

Montana never lost a super, never threw a super bowl Int. that means something. The guy was clutch in unreal ways. Losing the super bowl hurts because you did not win it. Look at Dan Marino. If that guy had a ring or 2. His legacy would be totally different. You can not really compare stats between Montana and brady. 2 different eras. If Montana played today, I think its pretty safe to say he would put up great numbers
