This is the blueprint for ridding ourselves of Coach Jerod

It would make no sense. He isn’t running a west coast offense. He is from the EP tree.

The only way Daboll is coming here is if AVP is getting can and that would mean a brand new system for Maye. Are we really want to change the entire offense on him after year 1? I certainly don’t.

What’s best for Maye is continuity and consistency.
Tweaking the offense a bit, Van Pelt can develop and coach him but we need a new play designer, caller.

What has he ever done? He's had MUCH more talented teams than the current Pats and has a whopping one playoff win that happened back when Brady was still a Patriot and then got fired.

People want to keep retreading these defensive old Belichick tree guys. If he couldn't get it done on the Titans Idk why anyone thinks he's going to do better here.

If we move on, we need to rip the bandaid off and get someone who is actually going to prioritize offense which has been screwing this team over for years.
jfc... He's Not Belichick Tree Guy.

Bringing him here ensures you step away from the Belichick tree.

Belichick > O'Brien > Vrabel.

Literally from the same coaching tree. Literally learned from a Belichick disciple.

That’s not Mayo wants to do because we should have kept Belichick then.
The more I think about it we would have been pressed to make a worse hire.
…. But teams were calling we had to act… hahaha. They were going to steal our defensive coordinator who didn’t call plays. I wondered last year what he did….. now I know. Glad we kept him from jumping ship we dodged a real bullet there.

quite literally never coached under belichick.

started coaching at ohio state. three years with urban meyer, did not start his career under obrien.

That would make him under the O’Brien tree.

But he did start his NFL coaching career under BOB. So between friends that's kinda close. Really Vrabel branched from the Urban Meyer tree

You guys do get the concept of a coaching tree right?...

It literally works like a family tree. The entire concept largely came about because there was a point in time where majority the leagues coaches could be traced in some way to either Landry or Walsh.

Yeah that’s not how works and that illustration is just going down a rabbit hole to build up Bill Walsh. When people discuss John Harbaugh, nowhere in the conversation comes up where he had a relationship to Bill Walsh. Lol.

You do realize that Bill Parcells and Belichick actually came from the Ray Perkins tree?

and how many years did bill obrien coach before getting hired by belichick? 14 years.

Yeah I know where Bill came from. Coaching trees are used to show a philosophy and attributes that passed down from coach to coach. Bill Walsh was literally one of the first people that had coaching trees brought up. That's how the entire concept came about.

A coaching tree has always worked like a family tree, not a one off branch of only two coaches. You can go online and find articles that are decades old showing coaching trees being portrayed that way.

Coach ,you know, Mayo is going to get, you know, a second season... He is, you know, Bob Krafts guy... Its going to be, you know, a long couple of seasons, you know, if Wolf can't figure out, you know, the draft...
He will get three, perhaps four seasons. We already know he’s got the second season locked in. All he has to do is play Maye for all the season and he’ll pick up two more wins. That’ll be enough for Thunder to think things have turned around and wait to see how the third year turns out. Problem is by then there will be just enough better talent to pick up another one or two wins and it will convince Fasing Thunder that things are on track, with eight wins, so they’ll exercise Maye’s fifth year option and everything will be hunky dory. Right?

I was looking for articles about Mayo today and he has a BS degree in sports management. A sports management degree is all about the business side of sports. I can see Kraft loving that as I remember Jonathan touting Bellichicks economics degree. Mayo does seem excited in interviews about blockchain and startups and money. He also seems to have a winning personality and leadership skills with the players. Plus.... what certainly doesn't hurt, and may be equally important, he checks off a DEI box which pleases the woke mob and the NFL pressure to hire DEI head coaches and puts Kraft in a good light (he thought) for Hall of Fame woke owner..whoopee! But what the hell does Mayo know about the football side of being a Head Coach? Its like going into combat with an "educated" woke second lieutenant Company Commander who is not really interested in military tactics but thinking more about building his resume and making really big money when he gets out.

The fascination with Vrabel is still mystifying to me.

Three-consecutive playoff runs with nobody at quarterback and NFL Coach of the Year. A hard-ass coach beloved by his players. Run out of town by an idiot owner and unqualified GM. Has institutional knowledge of the Patriots.

Hope this helps.

That's what I am worried about. Mediocrity is Mayo's ceiling and roster improvements alone could get the Patriots there next season.

The Pats dropped from picking # 1 to # 3.
Actually, from #4 to #3.

Note: Year 5 of the rebuild.....aka....Year 1 of the most recent rebuild for those who are easily..........

...........and like to...............
