There's that INTENSE Foxboro crowd....

That's baloney! I was there and we stood and screamed our heads off... not just for third downs, but for almost every defensive down.

You know, for all of this complaining about the crowd, it would have helped if a few more Pats fans had gotten a ticket and come and helped us! There were tickets at www.ticketmaster.com as late as Friday. A guy from Mained who tailgated next to us said he got tickets in section 108 the morning of the game - at the box office.

Instead of having more help, all of us screaming Patriots fans had to put up with several loud Broncos fans who cheered over all our groans. We'd stand and scream before every third down snap and after the Pats failed to stop them, the Broncos fans would start whooping it up. It would have been nice if Pats fans had taken those tickets.

I am sure you were cheering like mad. All I am saying was the television cameras would pan across a section on a Broncos 3rd down and there were many people just sitting there like statues. I am sure some fans cheer and make as much noise as possible, but you hear the noise of other stadiums and Gillette just sounds muffled. Maybe it is the stadium itself, but the noise just isn't a factor during Patriots games. Almost every commentator working a Patriots game makes note of it during the broadcast.

I watched the Pitt game, and then the Seattle game, and then the game at Foxboro.
The first 2 stadiums are in a different universe. Gillette sounded like a funeral to me.
i agree, it sounded awful

I was there too and it was loud. And people were standing for the majority of the plays. I've never been to another NFL stadium (except for Sullivan), but this was the loudest I've ever heard Gillette for a regular season game and LOUDER than it was for the Jags playoff game last year. Denver burned at least one timeout due to the noise. You can blame the loss on many things, but don't blame the crowd.

I agree 100 %. The crowd did a great job. If we do the job like last night there can be no complaints. Everybody was great around me.

You really can't judge how loud it is on TV. Also just because people are sitting down doesn't mean they are making noise. I was at the game and I had been standing up the whole day and my legs were a little tired so I didn't stand up a whole lot except on third downs. But even when I was sitting I was still yelling and making noise.

what happened in the fourth quarter? does that not count since the team was behind?

nobody's blaming the loss on the crowd...it's just not much of a hometown advantage.

if you don't have experience with other stadiums I can tell you from growing up at RFK in the 80s that these are EXTREMELY front-running fans around here.

I have been to every game played at Gillette (as well as all except a handful at old Schaeffer / Sullivan / Foxboro Stadium).

I think I am in a position to rate last nights crowd. We were loud and into it most of the way in spite of the many disappointments. Certainly, we were all over the officials for what was truly one sided officiating. I am not blaming the refs for the loss or saying it was done on purpose, but they simply blew a number of calls - all of which went against the home team.

I really do get ticked off seeing opposing fans getting tickets - you can blame Stub Hub and EBAY for that. Season ticket holders have a way to sell their tickets at face back to the Pats which would assure they remain in the hands of Pats fans.

Last nights crowd was awesome though folks.
