Re: Browns FA RB Peyton Hillis to the Chiefs

The Chiefs make a lot of sense. Seems like a good fit there.

Unless something crazy happens like the Pats trade up for Trent Richardson I think our back field is set and ready to bring in the new era of Ridley and Vereen.

However I still stick to my guns that Michael Bush probably is the best fit here in New England of all the available free agents.

I'm curious.... Why Bush over Tolbert?

Here's a receiver to cross off the list that I was hoping the Pats might be able to add without breaking the bank.

Jaguars, receiver Laurent Robinson agree to five-year contract | jacksonville.com

Laurent Robinson, who caught 11 touchdown passes for the Dallas Cowboys last season, agreed to a five-year deal worth $32.5 million with about $2.5 million more in incentives. His gurantees are in the $14 million range.

Robinson, entering his sixth season in the league out of Illinois State, caught a career-best 54 passes for 858 yards last season in Dallas.

The deal is similar to the five-year, $34 million deal that tight end Marcedes Lewis signed last season. That had $17 million in guarantees.

Robinson caught 54 passes for 858 yards and 11 touchdowns last year with Dallas. That was after he was cut by the Cowboys and re-signed a week later. He also was previously was cut by Atlanta and St. Louis.

Robinson, 6 feet 2 and 194 pounds, is being counted on to provide a big target for quarterback Blaine Gabbert, who struggled in his rookie season.

I agree thought he would be a great option along with Llyod/draft pick. Thinking his best football is ahead of him. Didn't see 17 mil coming for him though, however, Jax is desperate for WR's.

I like the way Tolbert moves, plus he's tough and will stick his nose right into the action. Problem is he probably fumbles too much for BB.

If Bush goes to Cinci, we may be able to re-sign Green-Ellis.

I'm not sure if I am comfortable with this cordial relationship and point agreement of late Andy.

F#ck you. Better now?

Charles was a massive loss for the Chiefs. As a football fan, I simply enjoyed watching him hit a hole and explode through the backfield with balance and poise at top speed.

You're quite right though, it helps to have an escape valve in the RB dump off, something our RB's haven't been particularly bright at outside of Faulk and Woodhead in recent times.

Yeah, and with them being interchangable in terms of being able to run, or recieve, it gives them some unpredictablity.

I see Lloyd wanting 7-8 mill a year...not sure if the pats will see the value in that if that is the case

I don't see him getting that much. The only team showing any interest was the 49ers and they are bringing in every free agent. I don't see him getting more than Reggie Wayne who got under $6 million a year.

People are overrating the interest in Lloyd.

as a charger fan i'm happy so far with the meat and potatoes guys we've gotten signed

mcclain jj meachem hardwick gaither

hope there's more hole fillers coming (that sounds wrong)

The hillis deal is a stael for KC. 1 year 3mill. I would think he would be motivated. Then again he was in a contact year and acted like a deusch. either way Hillis takes 3 mil and tolbert/bush will probably get paid. In the end their numbers may all be similar.

Hope the pats were at least in on Hillis and wayne just based on what they signed for. I'm not a huge wayne guy at this stage but I would have done that deal.

schillens ain't bad, keep in mind he never really had a above avg qb throwing to him in oakland

imagine him as one of your pats? i mean look what ya did with a guy like gaffney

JJ will help the Chargers a lot. Also weakens the Ravens D somewhat which is good for the Pats!

Richard Marshall just tweeted that he signed with Miami. A versatile DB who I think would have been a great fit w/ Pats.

Damn it.

One of my only true wants for the FA period.

He's versatile, and he came reasonably cheap--at approx 5 mill per.

That could have given us precious depth at both secondary positions, and he would've likely started somewhere. Possibly at FS.
