Don't forget about Sheard. He's currently on pace for 16 sacks.

Jamie is unbelievable.

We have four guys on pace for double digit sacks. Current paces:

Sheard 16
Collins 14
Jones 12
Hightower 10

This Pats front 7 is pretty good. Wow.

It's no longer the front that allowed QB's to dance around all day like last year. Could you imagine this front with last years secondary?

Everyone is currently overrating Denver's defense. By the end of the season, our will be better - guaranteed.
In its defense it's done very good.

The problem is every offense they've faced has an inexperienced/inconsistent/flat out shaky passing game.

I think that the offense getting out to such large leads provides some stat inflation when it comes to picks and sacks. Having said that, the defense has improved week to week and is looking like the group most of us hoped they would become with the talent on paper.

Collins is really starting to come into his own as the ultimate modern chess piece. He is starting to redefine the checklist for an inside linebacker and is only beginning to enter his prime. 1/4th of the way through his third year I would take him over any other ILB in the game. Sky's the limit for this kid.

Tell that to last years team though. We had big leads and still didn't pile many sacks.

IMO if Chandler Jones has high trade value, I'd do it now. I think Sheard can more than fill his shoes at right end and I've always thought Jones was decent but a little overrated. Might be the way we get another corner if it becomes a more pressing need (i.e. Butler gets exposed in later games, Brown injured, etc), and/or get a high draft pick to help mitigate the loss of that first rounder.

I see your point but I would argue that the 14 team was a second half squad and most games down the stretch resembled this week's game more than the Buffalo or Jacksonville games. No better case for artificial inflation that the 07 defense who didn't pass the eye test nearly as well as last years squad yet put up stupid numbers.

I think we need Chandler Jones still. Sheard at RDE would be good but Sheard is the type of guy you can scheme all over the place. The way we move Sheard around takes him from good to great.

I think that an end combination of Sheard and Jones, is much better than Sheard Ninkovich. Plus having 3 ends that can all start allows us to move them around so much more without sacrificing too much.

Are my eyes deceiving me or did Jamie Collins just bull rush an RT and RG at the same time?

When I posted earlier that Jamie Collins makes the players around him better, that is precisely the play I was thinking about.

In that context your suggestion is plausible but healthy, fresh pass rushers in Dec, Jan and Feb is very important.
