The money matters, but it's always nice to see an UDFA (or late-rounder) stick around in the league.

Pharms played in 16 regular-season contests with New England in 2024, tallying 33 tackles (16 solo), including 2.0 sacks. He saw his most action at the end of the campaign, logging at least 58 percent of the team's defensive snaps in each of his final three games.

Pharms had a decent year we'll see if he's more than a camp Body. DT is very Deep in this upcoming Draft.

Actually like this, Pharms showed some good things this year. He might make more sense in Vrabel and Williams’ scheme plans.

agree. we are going to see with Vrabel/Williams more 1 gap vs 2 gap.
makes me wonder about Godchaux and what his trade value is

Yeah, I don’t think Godchaux is a great fit but he’s a decent player and under contract for 2 years for a pretty cheap cost for a new team. I’d guess they could get a 4th for him, maybe with a 6th going back.

Decent player? More like dumb as a rock and locker room cancer. We gave up 40 points and 147 yards to the Chargers and the fool said he didn't think the run game was the problem and they were playing well. He rebuked the fans for calling out Mayo. You cannot fix stupid.

That’s partly a product of the culture Mayo built, and I don’t think other teams will care much about this

Totally forgot about his Extension.

As far as i'm concerned the whole team gets a pass for last year. Even Tavai to some extent.

The team takes their lead from the coach and other player/leaders.

It's obvious the 2024 Patriots had none.

Very small for a DT (6-2, 300)
Would love to see some massive run stuffing tackles to deal with gargantuan OL

just an opinion, Vrabel/Williams are going to want DT's that can explode into a gap and create pressure (B-More, Pharms)
Godchaux while not massive has proven to be a good, at times very good, 2 gap run stuffer.

I also expect that Vrabel/Williams will allow the edge players to pressure rather than initial responsibility to set the edge. Should make both White and Jennings happy

What I like about this is that it seems that they evaluating their in-roster talent

Pharms might be average for the league at best, but I remember some decent stuff from our games from him. Who knows? He's young and could improve edit - 28 eehhh i thought he was younger

Decent depth player. Might get better with actual good coaching.
just my opinion, but Bill greatness (before the past 2 years or so) was his ability to recognize a player that could play well in Bill's scheme, and the staff's ability to teach that scheme and that weeks game plan to that player.
the player more than likely was not, or would not be great elsewhere, but here, in Bill's scheme, in certain weeks, that player would play great.

Easy resign, easy cut if he doesn't make the roster.
Young player that might improve with better coaching.
If he plays half the 457 snaps that he had in 2024 we're in trouble.

You are spot on.

Great coaches preach the fundamentals and technique. They put players in position to succeed. They never ask them to do something they are incapable of doing in the scheme. A good coach properly assesses the player's strengths and weaknesses and deploys them accordingly.

The one thing which is undeniable is Pharms has a GREAT motor. Need to hang on to guys like that.

Glad to see the coaches are already at the point of evaluating who they want to stay and who they don't.

Great news, I like players that don't give up and keep doing their upmost to make it. I think he has more to give too, will only get better.
