That is a ridiculous standard... there isn't a back in the league who can meet that standard. Every one can be shut down if a good team (like us) decides that's how to beat them. Remember future-Hall-of-Famer Marshall Faulk in SB XXXVI?

Marshall Faulk was option numero uno on that Rams team. Maroney is well behind Brady, Moss, and Welker as the focus of oppossing defenses. Maroney has the luxury of never seeing 8 men in the box and having defenses far more concerned with the pass. EVERYONE knows Belichick's defense was designed to take away Faulk in that super bowl and have Warner and the passing game beat us. Do you honestly think any defenses is going to come into a game against us and have it's main goal be to stop LoMo? Puhleaze. LoMo should run well against any team in the playoffs if he is the GOODS. Funny how the excuses are already pouring in before the games start, LOL!

um, actually, wasn't BB's defensive gameplan to hit the receivers coming off the line, hit them when the ball was in the air, then hit them some more? Belichick was counting on Martz's stubborness and trying to win "his way", and that he would abandon the run, despite the Patriots secondary abusing the wideouts and disrupting the rhythm of the Rams timing patterns. Obviously, the defensive gameplan included slowing down Faulk, but I would hardly say he was the focal point...
