I saw Detroit destroy the Pats last season in the third game...I got so scared I never watched after that...what happened anyway???

I think he looks good too, but I've seen too many players look good in the preseason who have ultimately been cut. With the number of DEs on the roster I don't know how you can automatically call Cunningham a lock.

There aren't a ton of 4-3 DEs, by any stretch. Pretty much Jones, Ninkovich, Cunningham, Scott, and Francis. In this case, I also think Ninkovich and Cunningham have a leg up since they've both played quite a bit as 3-4 OLBs for the Pats.

He's not a lock, but your post questioning whether it was too little, too late was a tad ridiculous.

Because we don't have a "number of DEs" on the roster.

Add to that Cunningham has been lining up at DT a fair bit.

I saw that...but that was also with 3 starters missing.

So basically a few men go down and all of a sudden the pass offense is obsolete? God help us if bodies drop during the season. Forget deep balls if that's the case. What was once our strength doesn't look so hot without Light. Hope Waters comes back.

Moore was supposed to have underneath coverage on Cruz. The guy who blew the deep coverage was Ebner. who bit up and tried to get back

Francis has played more inside.

And Cunningham's playing time during these games has shown he is ahead of Trevor Scott, who himself has never been anything special.

Apparently tonight's game plan is for Mallett to get game time experience at handing the ball off. Nice play calling Josh. You are trying to run backup backs and a backup o line against an NFL teams starting defense. Way to go Josh.
